I'm short on time as I am going to an affair in a short while so can't get too involved .... try googling Nicholas Cummings, former President of the APA, Dr. Rogers Wright, Jeffrey Satinover, Jenny La Barbera .... there are others but thats off the top of my head ... you do understand the word 'schtick' - nuff said on that matter .
OK, Cummings, writing an opinion piece about the APA allegedly being controlled by liberals pushing an LGBT agenda in LifeSite News an extreme Catholic publication. LifeSite was, in fact criticized for it's writing by ANOTHER Catholic publication, the National Catholic Reporter:

LifeSiteNews does harm with stories like 'Vatican financial scandal'

He also endorsed ex gay therapy as not being unethical.

Santinover is another biased anti gay bigot:

Satinover draws comparisons between homosexuality and various pathologies (e.g., alcoholism, pedophilia) and argues that homosexuality involves compulsive impulses. He states that homosexuality "is not a true illness, though it may be thought an illness in the spiritual sense of 'soul sickness,' innate to fallen human nature."[15] He also argues that "gay activism distorts the truth and harms not only society, but homosexuals themselves". Most of the book discusses whether homosexuality is biological and genetic and if it can be changed.

Surly you can do better. I'm not even going to bother looking up the others,

A recently released study by the Williams Institute confirms there is no difference in the behavioral outcomes of adopted children raised in same-sex households when compared to those raised by heterosexual couples.

"Parents’ sexual orientation is not related to children’s emotional and behavioral outcomes," confirms Williams Visiting Scholar Abbie Goldberg, who co-authored the study with JuliAnna Z. Smith of the University of Massachusetts. A national think tank at University of California, Los Angeles Law, the Williams Institute conducts independent research relating to sexual orientation, gender identity law, and public policy.

T
he study, "Predictors of Psychological Adjustment in Early Placed Adopted Children With Lesbian, Gay, and Heterosexual Parents," analyzed 120 two-parent adoptive families, comprising of 40 same-sex female couples, 35 same-sex male, and 45 different-sex couples, looking at aspects of the pre- and post-adoptive developments of the children.
F
or all couples, the child was under 1.5 years of age, and was the first and only child adopted. The findings are consistent with an emerging body of research showing that parents’ sexual orientation are not related to children’s emotional and behavioral outcomes, and the Williams Institute study is unique in that it is longitudinal - i.e. follows couples over time - and includes adopted children, as well as includes three types of parents: gay, lesbian, and heterosexual (Goldberg explains how past same-sex parent studies tended to focus on lesbian parents).

Here is more:

I
n a project launched last month, a team at Columbia Law School has collected on one website the abstracts of all peer-reviewed studies that have addressed this question since 1980 so that anyone can examine the research directly, and not rely on talking heads or potential groupthink. Even when we might not agree with a study’s conclusions—with how a researcher interpreted the data—we still included it if it went through peer review and was relevant to the topic at hand. Peer review, of course, isn’t perfect, but it’s one of the best ways the world has to ensure that research conclusions are at least the product of good-faith efforts to get at the truth.

The Columbia project is the largest collection of peer-reviewed scholarship on gay parenting to date. What does it show? We found 71 studies concluding that kids with gay parents fare no worse than others and only four concluding that they had problems. But those four studies all suffered from the same gross limitation: The children with gay parents were lumped in with children of family breakup, a cohort known to face higher risks linked to the trauma of family dissolution.
Even the notion that some try to put forth, that there are no good studies is wrong...the studies, while not perfect do give us a very good idea on the conclusions and that is that gay homes are not better nor worse.

Here is a link to all the studies

All we have to do is look around to see it. Is it because Women's Lib has caused the rise of single-parent/women homes? Or, and thisi may be reaching, because we've become a society of self-gratification? Get it when you can and don't worry about the results?

Here are some facts about fatherless homes:

63 percent of youth suicides are from fatherless homes — five times the average. (US Dept. Of Health/Census)

90 percent of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes — 32 times the average.

85 percent of all children who show behavior disorders come from fatherless homes — 20 times the average. (Center for Disease Control)

80 percent of rapists with anger problems come from fatherless homes — 14 times the average. (Justice & Behavior, Vol 14, p. 403-26)

71 percent of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes — nine times the average. (National Principals Association Report)

43 percent of U.S. children live without their father [US Department of Census]

What are your thoughts? Is he right?

Should we make divorce illegal? Only provide benefits to married mothers? What?

How about we not pay teenage girls to become unwed mothers? That is a very poor career choice with inevitably bad outcomes for the children.

Bullshit, unsubstantiated opinions.

Try trashing this:

The Australian Study of Child Health in Same-Sex Families is the world’s largest attempt to study how children raised by same-sex couples compare to children raised by heterosexual couples. According to a preliminary report on the study of 500 children across the country of Australia, these young people are not only thriving, but also have higher rates of family cohesion than other families:

An interim report found there was no statistical difference between children of same-sex couples and the rest of the population on indicators including self-esteem, emotional behaviour and the amount of time spent with parents.

However, children of same-sex couples scored higher than the national average for overall health and family cohesion, measuring how well a family gets along. World’s Largest Study Of Same-Sex Parenting Finds That Children Are Thriving

Children raised by same-sex couples appear to do as well as those raised by parents of both sexes, suggests an international research review that challenges the long-ingrained belief that children need male and female parents for healthy adjustment.

"It's more about the quality of the parenting than the gender of the parents," says Judith Stacey of New York University, co-author of the comprehensive review. It will be published Friday in the Journal of Marriage and Family. http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/health/2010-01-21-parentgender21_ST_N.htm

A number of stifled and black listed scholars and researchers have pointed out ludicrous methodological problems with most of the research that would cast serious doubt on the conclusions of the “no difference” findings. Some of these researchers who are supportive of lgbt parenting have even acknowledged the severe methodological limitations of the tainted research.

In order to arrive at an accurate conclusion and reflect scientifically accurate statistics and data test subjects must be randomly selected. The studies cited were never random, in fact if you Ctrl+F on any of the studies you cited you'll see they largely ignore and avoid the word RANDOM. The reason for this is that the subjexts are not randomly selected. In most cases they are pre qualified and any or most subjects who would tend the tilt the stats against the predetermioned outcome are rejected. Basically the subjects are cherry picked in the ilk of the long since debunked Evelyn Hooker Studies - Evelyn Hooker - Bad Science

You missed the point on Nicholas Cummings ... yes he has written a number of opinion pieces, yada yada yada. Cummings is the man responsible for declassifying homosexuality as a mental illness

As APA President he backed having homosexuality declassified as a mental Illness and was author of the proposal to remove it from the DSM

He made the following atatement - 'I made the resolution that being gay was not a mental illness, that it was character logical .... I also said with that, that the APA, if it passes this resolution, will also vote to continue research that demonstrates whatever the research demonstrates. Unbiased, open research.'

In recent years - as new evidence has surfaced and TRUE non politicized science has advanced Cummings has come to the realization that his earlier committment to LGBT agendas was misguided and based on bogus and insufficient data.

Dr. Cummings stated that he has had a life long commitment to promoting diversity, and has been appalled to see activists commandeer organizations such as the APA to further their own social agenda.

As per Dr. Cummings, when the APA conducts research, they do so only "when they know what the outcome is going to be...only predictably favorable outcomes are permissible."

He also endorsed ex gay therapy as not being unethical.

Santinover is another biased anti gay bigot:

Re: He also endorsed ex gay therapy as not being unethical.

Yes - this is true and your point is ???? Is it unethical to treat junkies and crackheads ??? You think Faggots are any different ???

Re: Santinover - He is a Bible Thumping hell and brimstone baravaider- he is no more prejudiced to the right than the assholes you cited that hide behind the cloaks of "scholarly wizards"

Waite! What? Let me remind you of a couple of things. The subject of the thread is the effects of an absent father. It then morphed into a debate about parenting by gay people or same sex couples. This is about mental health issues of gay people. Are you trying to present this as evidence that they should not be parents? There is considerable evidence that those mental health and substance are not a result of being gay, but rather a product of historical discrimination and marginalization. It is a false cause logical fallacy.

www.paganpressbooks.cohttp://www.paganpressbooks.com/jpl/TRB-GO.HTMm/jpl/TRB-GO.HTM

Anyone growing up gay in America learns to develop a mildly schizophrenic personality style. Gay persons experience a split between what he or she feels toward members of the same sex and what is socially acceptable. A gay person soon learns to become an expert at self-censorship, at inhibiting feelings and responses to avoid being “read” as gay. Under strong pressures at home, in school, with peers to “go straight”, a gay person has difficulty experiencing sexuality as a positive force. Sex becomes split off from productive and active parts of life, draining off energy in repression, and leaving a sense of being not quite together. Every gay person in America leads two lives. Within the personality there is a felt opposition between feeling and socially approved activity. This kind of self-division is usually termed alienation. The anti-gay pressures of American society and culture force upon homosexuals peculiar forms of personal and social alienation.

Alienation In Personal Life

The deepest problem faced by gay people in their personal lives is that of positive self=image. American society exerts strong pressures through most of its institutions to enforce the view that homosexuality is a negative characteristic. Heterosexuality as an exclusive way of life is exalted as the only legitimate form of sexual expression. At the same time, homosexuality is put down in books, films, “queer” jokes, etc. The first film in America to deal with gay experience, “The Boys In The Band”, focused upon a group of male, middle class New Yorkers — the typical stereotype of “the homosexual”. The film showed gay men with personal problems such as guilt, self-hatred and failure, all somehow connected with their homosexuality. Yet, there was no mention of the kind of social repression which surrounds every gay person, women as well as men, in our society. This is putting homosexuality down.

This is pure and pathetic desperation on your part- and/or more proof of your psychosis. The edge is a legitimate advocacy organization and there is nothing here that a reasonable person would have a problem with.

Waite! What? Let me remind you of a couple of things. The subject of the thread is the effects of an absent father. It then morphed into a debate about parenting by gay people or same sex couples.

The thread is about the proven adverse impact on children of being raised on fatherless (or motherless) homes.

What you advocate is to deliberately create fatherless and motherless homes, and to put children into them. Even when you disregard the much more serious issues pertaining to putting children in the hands of morally- and mentally-disordered sexual perverts; there are still the obvious issues created merely by depriving children of having a proper set of parents, consisting of both a father and a mother. No matter how you try to spin it, what you advocate is the willful and malicious abuse of children, in order to promote an insane and immoral agenda.

This is about mental health issues of gay people. Are you trying to present this as evidence that they should not be parents? There is considerable evidence that those mental health and substance are not a result of being gay, but rather a product of historical discrimination and marginalization. It is a false cause logical fallacy.

Being homosexual is an inherently-disordered position. It is, in itself, a mental and moral disorder. Trying to blame the problems that those who are so disordered suffer, on external factors, is absurd on its face.

The 3rd article - although lacking scholarly accredidation is relative and non biased

'There was always something missing': child of lesbian parents speaks up
This is really lame! She has no problem with same sex marriage or gay parenting! Did you get that part? She is concerned about family structure and not knowing who her daddy is? Too bad. Lots of kids don't know who their daddy is and grow up in non traditional families. She seems confused. She is now speaking against same sex marriage to "preserve children's rights"? How about the right to have two married legal parents? Anyway I thought that you were not opposed to "fag marriage" as you put it? What is your point in posting this then? Should she have been taken away from her lesbian mother and place with a traditional family ? WHAT?

It not hard to find a few disgruntled or confused kids who were raised by gay parents. There was this bullshit story a while back too.

http://m.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/mar/27/adult-children-of-gays-say-gay-marriage-isnt-good-/

This is just another major fail!!

OK, 6 adult children of gay parents came forward to make the claim same sex marriage harms children, before same sex marriage was legal nationwide. In addition, there is no indication as to whether their parents were married or lived in a state where same sex marriage was legal at the time. Strike #1

Yes, these people seem to be troubled and angry, and perhaps for good reason. Some may have in fact experienced dysfunctional homes and parents. The problem is, that this in no way proves that more children of gay parents experience less than optimal childhoods than do children of heterosexual parents.

In addition, regardless of the status of same sex marriage, gay people and same sex couples will have children. Having legal status can only help the stability of the family and provide needed security for the children

One child writes that legalizing same sex marriage is writing the need for a mother and a father out of the civil code. Is that what it is doing? Really? Lets think about that. Whether children need a mother and a father is not even the issue. Many children do not have a mother and a father for a variety of reasons, and not allowing same sex marriage is not going to change that. Nor would it change the fact that she had a lesbian mother, and her father was not around. A loving lesbian mother according to the article!!

And from the same article:

Groups for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) families, such as the Family Equality Council and COLAGE, have filed a brief with the Supreme Court.

They argue that families led by same-sex parents deserve “no less protection” than other families, and that years of marriage rights for gay families have already shown that it benefits children and has “harmed no one.”

“I laugh at the thought of a ‘gay lifestyle,’ because other than being led by two women, my family is about as traditional as it gets,” Kinsey Morrison, an 18-year-old woman from Kentucky, said in COLAGE brief to the Supreme Court.

“I don’t look back and wish I was raised in a household with straight parents. I wish my mom and stepmom could finally have validation of their love,” Lea Mitchell, 29, of Michigan, said in the COLAGE brief, which was filled with statements from some two dozen children raised in LGBT homes.

Regnerus who you're defending is claiming to be harmful

And he is meritorious --- I only have a masters in a relative discipline, no phD but he was never attacked untill contradicted Big Brothers agenda ... suspicous don't you think ?

All that you're demonstrating is that he is not rabidly anti gay and perhaps a good scientist. It does not prove his claims about the APA and moreover, does not invalidate the numerous other studies on same sex parenting that you cannot effectively debunk.

You know Blaylock, at lease Green Bean seems to have a brain and some ability to amass knowledge, however faulty it might it might be. YOU are just a bloviating bigot- a serious mess that is driven by fear and delusion.

I want to create fatherless homes. That is just one example of your stupidity and craziness. How the fuck is anybody except the family members, going to "create ' fatherless homes. Fatherless homes just happen

Abuse of children ? That is the stupidest, and most hatful horseshit that you keep shamelessly repeating . There is no basis for it except the voices in your diseased brain.

New Study: No Difference Between Gay & Straight Adoptive Parents http://www.edgemedianetwork.com/news/family/147523/new_study:_no_difference_between_gay_&_straight_adoptive_parents

Re: "Predictors of Psychological Adjustment in Early Placed Adopted Children With Lesbian, Gay, and Heterosexual Parents" conducted by the Williams Institute. Williams Institute is a left wing think tank hosted at UCLA, a pc controlled socialist fascist 'school' devoted to indoctrination of young people and dissemination of 'data' favorable to their causes. They NEVER EVER EVER come up with conclusion based studies that contradict the dictates of Big Brother. Their studies are the product of deliberate misinformation campaigns by Gay activists to bring forward particular, pre-arranged outcomes, an approach that ignores scientific objectivity.

Their so called "peer reviewed" studies, when they are labeled as such are reviewed by left leaning politicized peers. They lack even the slightest hint to OBJECTIVITY

Objectivity is a basic philosophical concept, related to reality and truth. Objectivity means the state or quality of being true even outside of a subject's individual biases, interpretations, feelings, and imaginings. Scientific Objectivity is a value that informs how scientific studies are conducted and how scientific truths are arrived at. It is the idea that scientists, in attempting to uncover truths about the natural world, must aspire to eliminate personal biases, emotional involvement, etc ...

Re: World’s Largest Study Of Same-Sex Parenting Finds That Children Are Thriving

Simon Crouch, director of this project and his co conspirators readily admit that they actively and personally recruited participants from Gay Pride marches and other LGBT events, indicating an activist mindset. Participants were not randomly chosen as is the case with all pro queer "RESEARCH" [lol] you have submitted.

It also relied heavily on 'self reporting' the test subjects basically evaluated themselves in many cases - think about that for a moment

Simon Crouch in an interview with a gay media outletstated that “His decision to conduct the study was prompted by politics"

There is no such thing as an impartial study that proves what is false - the only way to prove that Black is white or that 2+2=5 is to fudge the results or lie .

Getting back to the previous study you cited ...

The New York Times and the media are widely reporting the results of a new study of 500 children raised by same-sex couples. Researchers are aghast that such a shoddy piece of work, which is based on a convenience sample of parents who volunteered to be surveyed, and which relies solely on these parents’ reports to determine child well-being, should have been published in a reputable peer-reviewed journal. The author is facing a petition and statement signed by hundreds of reputable academics questioning his moral character and scientific integrity, and the editor of the journal who published such a thing faces similar attacks and enquiries about whether the peer-review process was compromised.
