Folks, please don't blame your Conservative or Liberal lawmakers for the polarized, gridlocked situation we're in today. These folks are only doing what they said they would do if elected. Both sets of voters have such a hard nosed "my way or the highway" attitude, where compromise and working out deals to move legislation through Congress is simply not tolerated, that both houses of Congress are now vapor locked, and unable to move. So, please consider this:
Back in the 1700's When the founding fathers were drafting our Constitution, none of them got everything they wanted. There were heated debates, name calling, and some tense situations, but everyone knew this was the price one pays for living in a Democracy, and not a dictatorship, so they stuck with it, they compromised, and they realized that unless they were willing to give something up, in order to get some of what they wanted, a dictatorship would be their only future. Maybe we could all learn something here: Bipartisanship and compromise are not dirty words. It's time to tell our lawmakers what we want, BUT...it's OK to work with the other side to get things done....before it's too late.
