Well , he signed the NDAA

Yes and these poison pill attacks will come in every single piece of mandatory spending that will land on his desk as long as republicans control the house.

Both sides do it. It's not a partisan issue.

Maybe but in this case it seems republicans are willing to take basic rights and use them as cheap political weapons. Also the first Congressional challenge to this will come very shortly, republicans and democrats alike will be forced to vote clearly on how they feel on this matter, this stupid stunt will backfire disastrously.

I agree.

Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform, is a major force in Washington conservative circles.

Since 1993, he has hosted weekly meetings of conservative activists in the nation's capital which Wall Street Journal columnist John Fund has called the Grand Central Station of the conservative movement. More than 100 leaders of what Norquist refers to as "the center-right coalition" attend the sessions.

The bearded conservative activist is known for pithy, often pugnacious, phrasemaking including his observation, "We are trying to change the tones in the state capitals - and turn them toward bitter nastiness and partisanship."

Before founding Americans for Tax Reform in 1985, Norquist served as executive director of the College Republicans, executive director of the National Taxpayers' Union, and economist and chief speechwriter for the United States Chamber of Commerce.

Norquist grew up in wealthy Weston, Mass., in a house which had a firing range in the basement. So perhaps it is not surprising that he is now on the board of directors of the National Rife Association. He is a graduate of Harvard University ('78) and Harvard Business School ('81).

So where does the Republicans holding America hostage come into this? What was the threat in simply vetoing the bill?

Things are about to get ugly people. You Obama supporters just say one thing against this country and you to might be detained!!! Wonder how you will feel about him if you or one of your family members gets in trouble for free speech! BREAKING: Obama Signs Homeland Battlefield Bill Into Law

Now, more than ever, we need to show that we are willing to stand up and say no.

He must be impeached.

Now you're just being dumb.

For Obama this is a no-win. Sign and he's Mussolini. Don't sign and he's 'not supporting the troops.'

House Republicans (who voted 193-43 in favor) can just sit back and enjoy the show.

It would be refreshing to hear you just admit that you hate the man, and this bill has nothing to do with it.

This is the supreme court's chance to prove their worth.

This is the scariest piece of legislation I've ever seen.

Ya, they want you to wait the two years or so before it goes there. They want you to be complacent, because in two years this will be as accepted as the patriot act is.

Exactly.

They did it to try and harm Obama.

Note not any of these hypocrits will admitt Obama could have NEVER given himself this power.

The republicans wrote this into the bill

why?

How many bills did the democrats pass and Bush signed? It was always Bush's fault, right? How is this different? Don't answer, it was a rhetorical question.

Your right wing Scotus will sanction this and anything their massters tell them to sanction

TM, you're so drenched in the partisan puppet show you've lost the ability to think rationally. I agree with you that the Republicans who wrote the bill are scumbags. I don't really care. Obama had the ability to put a stop to it and he chose not to. He's either a liar (and never had any intention of pushing back against the neo-cons) or a coward (choosing political expediency over principle).

It all depends on what is in the bill you clown.

get an example and we will discuss it mkay

All the President had to do is Veto it. So why didn't he?

Well, it's either despite his campaign promises to the contrary, he actually believes in this crap or, as apologists would have it, he was afraid the Republicans would slam him for vetoing a military funding bill.

So, either dishonesty, or lack of courage. Take your pick.

HOW DID IT GET INTO THE BILL?

Your team put it in

who signed it, dipshit?

While I favor the trashing of political correctness in the protection of the American people, this law NDAA does trounce all over Posse Comitatus.....Definition....Posse Comitatus Act of 1878..
We are in a dangerous world now where conventional means to apprehend, or even kill our sworn enemies has become complicated.
I do not believe the Office of POTUS will authorize the use of the military to use this new law in a frivolous manner.
However, if it saves one innocent American from harm by domestic terror, it is worth it.
It's slippery slope.

Right. And Obama dodged that harm, choosing to pass it along to us instead. Thanks?
