Looking back at my working years and raising a family the biggest benefit from Democrats that I now perceive is Social Security. Not in the form that I'll begin to collect in a few years when I reach my full retirement age, but rather in form of term insurance for my kids in case I died or became disabled.
Would you be Happy with it if you died before you collect and your kids were to old?

Doubt if I'll be feeling anything of this world once I depart. However, back in those days I did supplemented Social Security with a term insurance policy. Dropped it once my kids were out on their own. I certainly don't consider that monthly premium to have been wasted.

Nothing personal but I'd sure hate to carpool with you. I'd be very leery when you brought up, "It's a good thing it's my week to drive. Both my term life insurance and car insurance expire on Friday. But what has me really pissed is that once again my house didn't go up in flames last month and so there's more homeowner premiums shot to hell. I just can't win!"
