What is a "Progressive"?

Apparently progressivism is giving the people the choice to let other people subsidize their healthcare while they sit back and voluntarily take part-time work or no work.

But what will progressivism be when too many people choose that option and there isn't enough money left to pay for the people who want their laid-back lifestyles financed by taxpayers?

Just curious :dunno:

there is a reason homeland security is grabbing up

as much ammo as they can
Gotta put the PEOPLE in their place...and it's coming.

I'm sure NASA has invented NOTHING!
Ideas? Yeah...Implementation? Maybe...NOT without the minds MANPOWER, MATERIAL of the PRIVATE SECTOR.

Learn it, Live it, KNOW IT.

Hey, I'll go with that.
Now what about when the Fed stops hiring those thousands of private companies in Virginia to "Implement".
Think those firms are going to still exist without all that funding?

Well? They've shown they can't run anything efficiently. SO...what OPTION do they have but TYRANNY?:eusa_whistle:

Sure they will. Private companies will survive. FIRST Order? It isn't their money, and PRIVATE folks will go it alone. Liberty is a great thing...NOW can YOU explain WHY government has gone from protecting liberty, to destroying it?

Free to come up with their own ideas, they would flourish just the same.
Do you really believe companies such as Boeing, General Dynamics, Ingersoll Rand and Raytheon would fold if not for government contracts?
Please.

NO...they were Realists. Progressives DO NOT believe in Individual Freedom. The PROGRESSIVE track record belies YOUR statement.

The Founding Fathers implemented the "great experiment" with We the People governing ourselves. There is no way you can spin that as anything but progressive.
A self-governing nation is a sovereign nation. Progressivism is democracy, which is a form of government that eighteenth century Americans did not want.

Really? And how many 18th C. Americans have you interviewed?

It's scary isn't it?

Said a lot of NOTHING. Good form!

It appears your biases prevent an ability for you to understand; that's sad.
No I understand it perfectly. I think it is YOU that has the issue.

You're such an asshole, I suppose that comes with your inability to think beyond your biases. Oh, and my nom de plume is Wry Catcher, not Fly Catcher. Your childish sexual innuendo notwithstanding.

Well, not in all cases. The 2nd A. referenced arms, and a firearm in the 18th C. was a single shot weapon capable of (maybe) three round per minute. So one might presume that gun huggers are closet progressives, capable of seeing some phrases in the Constitution as they want to, and others as they presume the authors (all in agreement, of course) wrote and each phrase was tightly constructed and with a clear non ambiguous meaning.

the Girandoni was able to shoot 40 rounds a minute

It was government that put a man on the moon and in the process brought about the technology that you are using to communicate with in this forum.
HOWEVER GOVERNMENT produces NOTHING...so without THE PRIVATE SECTOR...where would that endeavor BE?

*FAIL*

Government produced the vision, the incentive and the funding to put a man on the moon. If was left up to the private sector you would still be using a landline phone and the postal service.

Without Bell Telephone inventing the transistor, none of that would have been possible. Government had nothing to do with it, and that includes vision.

If Edison had not invented the light bulb, you would be watching TV by candlelight. No government involvement.

Somehow, we managed to develop into the industrial age with little, if any, help from government.

Now, some of you cannot take a crap without ensuring you have a government approved commode, and permission to do so.

Bravo!

You just correctly identified nearly every Marxist on this forum.

It's sadly obvious that Conservatives don't have any clue what a Progressive is, and of course Conservatives are too stupid to have it explained to them.

Progressives are the type of people who want to make more than certain that the reasons for invading a country are valid before the invasion. Pro-life Conservatives simply don't care who they kill.

A progressive is someone who steps on other people's wallets to fund his own pipe dreams and isn't sorry if it is ruinous.
Which of these things are, or should have been dismissed as pipe dreams?

A cleaner and sustainable environment? Work place safety? Fair wages for a fair day's work? Civil rights? Women's rights? Gay rights? Fair lending policies? Equality under the law for all Americans?

Each of these issues was resisted by Conservative policies and Conservative politicians and Conservative pundits. Each of these issues was or continues to be championed by Liberals.

Should these issues be seen as mere pipe dreams in the land of the free?
