What next Supreme Court?

While Republicans made abortion an all out issue, Democrats assumed Roe v Wade was a done deal

I always assumed this Conservative court would nibble at the edges of Roe v Wade
But this court is looking at an all out ban

This will be a wake up call for all Democrats. If they don’t get out the vote in 2022, they might as well forget it
You are getting all shook up over states rights. You really have nothing.

One of the most important aspects of courts is continuity of precedents.
No court is supposed to ignore precedent and implement their own personal beliefs.
The Supreme Court has overturned precedent numerous times.

"But this court is looking at an all out ban".
Your comments are often stupid but this is a complete lie.
The Court does not make law, they are simply retuning this to the states.

The Supreme Court has overturned precedent numerous times.
If they wanted to honor precedents then Congress would have investigated the election like it was done before when a large number of citizens suspected fraud. So, fuck them.

So, now that Republicans seem to have gotten their way to ban access to abortion…….Will they do the right thing?

1. Will they open up funding and access to Birth Control?

2. Will they help expectant mothers with access to prenatal healthcare, job protection anf maternal care?

3. Will they help support the care and upbringing of young children?
And once again you go off shrieking into the wilderness of false hysteria. The SC can't "ban access to abortion", so your entire premise is false from the beginning. The rest is just nonsense because of it.

That is exactly what they are doing in half the states

Yes they are making the law

The law used to say the States can’t ban abortions, now they can

The SC has to make this final real soon before Congress tries to federalize it

This is all so treasonous these people should be mowed down....It is starting to collapse

Blue States....who cares???........Let them suffer for what they voted for
Why would the courts allow a law by Congress to stand that they ruled it's not Constitutional?

The law was deemed unconstitutional, nothing more - that is not "making law".
Try again. I'm sure you will.
Yes it is
They are taking settled law and declaring it unconstitutional

That is making law

After each Justice promised to support Roe v Wade at their confirmation, it now appears the TRUMP court is willing to overturn it

Newly emboldened by a Conservative Court to do their bidding, what is next for Republican Legislatures?

1. Gay Rights- Gay Marriage will be an easy target as the courts leave it up to the states. Gays in the Military, job protections and discrimination are up for grabs

2. Transexuals- doomed

3. Environmental Protections- Look for an erosion of the EPA to tell states what to do

4. School Prayer- The court will allow any Christian prayer in schools

5. Civil Rights Law- Outside of lynching, look for anything goes

6. Worker protection/safety- Look for an end of OSHA and Collective Bargaining protection
Frankly, RW, IMO gays should have no special rights. Environmental protections and the EPA are pretty useless and most of the time, CAUSE adverse environmental conditions. Schools should allow prayer. Civil Rights are guaranteed by the Constitution, they won't be going away. OSHA causes more problems than it is supposed to solve.

Congress, and only Congress, makes law. Supreme Court rules on it's constitutionality.
Did you never go to civics class in Junior High?

Umm….yes

And they declared it Constitutional before claiming it wasn’t

Repealing Roe won't make abortion illegal, so that's not a barrier.

From my understanding, the state legislation outlawing abortion has always already existed.
The Roe Vs Wade superseded that state legislation, but does not make it disappear.
So if Roe Vs Wade is reversed. then the state legislation outlawing abortion automatically applies once again.

And 13 states already have passed legislation outlawing abortion if the Roe Vs Wade decision is ever reversed.

13 states have passed so-called 'trigger laws,' bans designed to go into effect if Roe v. Wade is overturned

(CNN)Many Americans anxiously anticipating the Supreme Court's decision on Roe v. Wade may have been offered a glimpse of what's to come when Politico revealed a draft Supreme Court opinion Monday night that would upend the landmark abortion rights case.
Though the unearthing of the draft has no immediate effect on abortion access, the preliminary opinion, which was confirmed to be authentic by the court, would overturn Roe v. Wade if a majority of justices decided to join, leaving state legislators to weigh their own abortion policies.
