I remember her telling mom and dad how she was training a man to do her job and he was making more money than she. That, and hearing from an 8th grade friend who visited his sister in the deep south (she was in the navy, circa 1959) and learning about water fountains and restrooms with signs, "Whties Only", these facts from credible sources made me into the man I am today.
