No, Trump is today's standard of a moderate. History may view him as a centrist.I think we will become a 3 party system.
Republican's will be the center.
Socialists will be the left.
Tea Party will be the right.
Niki Haley is a Tea Party member.
A Pence/Haley ticket in 2024 would join the two.
2024? Nah. Trump has got to go..and the entire alt/right thing must be squashed. 3 parties? Sure..but let us not be fooled by names. We have the extreme Right, the extreme Left, and the middle. Right now, the extremes are driving the narrative--the middle is mostly ignored and misquoted.
Can the middle overcome their antipathy towards each other? Moderate R's and D's united? Against Gerrymandering? Against Identity politics? Against the extremists, on both sides?
So far, no one has risen above the crowd--too early, I guess..and we have not reached rock bottom yet.
I've always been in favor of a meritocracy..but that dog won't hunt.
Moderates like the Bushs and the Clintons? no way, I would vote Socialist before a return to that disaster and most of America feels the same way. The so-called moderate world police force can win only if all voters are required to be on LSD before entering the voting booth.
