Well yes. The thing is all politicians just disrespect the voters, they only want the voters at election times. They do many things that the peoples disagree with, they then basically just ignore the peoples and carry on. Most politicians are only loyal to their Corporate paymasters.

It was Aristotle who defined and damned Democracy as mob rule, not Plato or Socrates.
Aristotle was Plato's student and the theme of democracy as mob-acracy was first insinuated in both The Republic and later in the Apology.
