I don’t think manufacturing America is doing a good enough job giving minorities a chance. I go to a trade show in Chicago and all the exhibitors are white. Mostly men. All the people working in the hotels or at the convention center are black. They don’t have access to the economic opportunities all of us who grew up in middle class white america

So I want corporations to do a better job giving minorities a chance.

When my brother was named vp, he was in over his head. He learned as he went. He figured it out. They named a woman to take over and she was over her head and now she’s going to another company for double the money. Big companies signed a diversity pledge so they are looking for women and minorities.

Small businesses or medium size businesses need to take on this pledge. Try giving a minority a shot. A lot of the hiring managers are racist. They think blacks are unreliable, lazy, etc. we have to stop stereotyping but a company should be able to fire and not be sued for discrimination.
