1) If they're hospitalized, they don't pay the cost of that treatment, it's paid by the insured and/or taxpayers.
2) They spread the virus to others, keeping the pandemic alive and multiplying.
3) As a viral host, they are a petri dish for virus mutation. We're already up past the delta variant which is deadlier and more infectious than the original.
Before the vaccine, these concerns were addressed by shutdowns, mandatory mask wearing and social distancing.
If they choose to remain unvaccinaated, then they should have to follow the CDC guidelines in place when people weren't vaccinated.

And yes, I know someone who came down with covid last October and nearly died and is still recovering from serious lung damage and heart disease. She may never fully recover but we're hopeful.

There have been a handful of people at my workplace that had it and when they first got it,everybody there was scared thinking they might have serious health problems and het hospitalized,I sat back and laughed at them,I told them they are getting worried over them for nothing,that within a week or two they would be fully recovered and back to work,sure enough they were.
