Who will be Secretary of State?

Initially, I prefer Corker who sits on the Senate Foreign Relations Committe for between administration continuitys' sake.

If I had to put money on it, I'd say Giuliani because he is more inline with Trump on policy. I think Mitt would look too much like pandering to the establishment. Of those in contention, my favorite is Bolton. I think most conservatives would cheer loudly over Bolton. I'm not sure why Newt isn't in consideration unless he told Trump he didn't want it. I would have figured him to be Trump's first choice.

Really, any of them are fine with me, they are ten times better than Obama's picks and probably thousands times better than anything Hillary would have picked.
Problem is MOST Conservatives aren't Trump republicans aka Populists. They are neo cons who want to invade the world....Bolton would surely fit that bill.

No, most conservatives are not neocons. Most conservatives are evangelicals. "Trump republicans" cannot be defined by a stereotype. They are a coalition of people across ideologies who were fed up with party elitism in Washington. Bolton's positions on foreign policy are in line with most conservatives regardless of what label you want to stick on him.

Many of us are neither neocon nor evangelical. We are simply "anti" on socialism and liberalism and we are "pro / original intent" on the Constitution, idea of smaller government, and principled on things like secure borders and the right that children have to the protections of our laws.

Well it's true that conservatives and evangelicals cross over and have many variations. I'm a constitutional conservative who believes in original intent but I wouldn't call myself a populist or evangelical. My point was, most conservatives aren't neocons, they are evangelicals. Now, I suppose there are some evangelical neocons just like there are some evangelical populists and evangelical socialists. The thing is... that's what the left loves to do... put us all in these neat little boxes and identify us by stereotypes.... we call this "identity politics" and I believe most of America is sick and tired of that shit.

A populist is now the president....the GOP has shifted BACK to where it began....no longer a 1%er party who enjoy going to war for Israel. Suggest you love it or leave it cupcake. He can "denounce" all he wants...still can't keep us from taking over...:) Suit and Tie nationalists :D

LOL.. The President IS a 1%, you stupid twit! His daughter IS a Jew! His grandson IS a Jew! He's not some anti-Semitic Jew-hater like you. The US is going to always back it's ally, Israel. If you don't like that, I suggest you leave it, cupcake!

The way I see it, you loudmouth punks are trying to lay claim to something you have no right to whatsoever. You're loud, you're annoying and you're very obnoxious... but you don't represent jack shit.

I am fascinated by this choice.

Because for the first time since Ronald Reagan, who had a vision of what is right for this country and a commitment to bring that vision into reality...I think we have that again.

I am going out on a limb and saying it will be Romney...because Trump has made his Defense appointees all Hawks...Generals....and he should want his Secretary of State to be one who can and will offset the Generals.

A tug of war between Defense and State is what you want to set up.
______

I feel like Lazarus.

Four years of Hillary Clinton would have killed everything I ever believed about this Great Country....and that may have killed me.

Trump gave me a new hope for my country.

The Liberal Media has been in a continuous conniption every day since the election....and every day Trump has impressed me.

I'm guessing Romney, and I am fine with that. But, if its not, I am willing to assume Trump is just smarter than me...that will help me sleep at night.

I haven't slept in 8 years.

____________

Interesting perspective, not one I had considered.

I believe Romney is a hawk as well though.
