Because scientists can disprove pretty much everything in the bible.
Not everything, just the claims related to the physical universe- like sun being made after the earth. The existence of the biblical gos is not proven through science, but it the logical implication of the bible's failure
I'll give you four:I'd love to have one example of something in the bible that has been definitively disproved by science.
The earth being created before the sun and moon- 'lights in the sky'
The moon being a light
the firmament
waters below and above the earth...
Beuk, you'll have to translate that into english for me
Claims such as the earth was created before the sun, as recorded in genesis, can be shown false by science.
Claims regarding when Jesus was born cannot be addressed by science- the scientific method can't repeat history to see it someone is born again and again and did exist. Science can provide evidence to support the existence of a person, but cannot prove scientifically that Jesus, Abraham Lincoln, or you great-grandpop existed.
Claims that a deity loves you cannot be refuted by science.
Jesus' birthdate can be defeated with reason- history records the dates of the census in Judah and the time when Herod reigned and ordered the massacre of Jewish children. Once cannot have escaped herod then gone back in time for the census, so we know someone is lying.
Science cannot disprove the existence of the jewish/christian/islmaic deity, but can establish facts that refute the biblical claims, proving the text fallible and, in turn, logic dictates that the claims made on the grounds of that infallibility no longer have any authority
The biblical traditions can easily be dismantled, but not by science alone, for science cannot address the ideological or philosophical directly
You saying it isn't definitive proof, genius.
Provide some proof. Or I'll just say "The bible says not" and we'll leave it at that. Stalemate.
Yo, dipshit.........first off, there was LIGHT before there was earth, so read Genesis dipstick.
Now there's about the extent to which religion ever challenges science. notice the appeal to ridicule and personal attack when the subject is completely unable to defend doctrine or counter the evidence presentedAs far as the rest of your bullshit? Pure bullshit.
Try again ya fucking moron.
Oh yeah.......for the idea that everything is alive? Might wanna study Tao.
In answer to the question which opened the thread...they disagree with and distrust science for the same reason the pre-Reformation Catholic Church did. It undermines their dogma which, in turn, undermines their grasp in political power.
First off, Tao is very close philosophically, to Judaism.
Second........it said on the SIXTH DAY God created man, so, man was the last. And......the reason that man was the last creation, that is why we were given dominion over them.
First, God said "let there be Light", and the rest of the creation happens from there.
You aren't even half as smart as you'd like to believe dude.

Actually, woman was the last creation.

Actually, no it doesnt.

Ever heard of a golem?
Easter is a good example of this........and, as further proof? How in the world could Yeshua have celebrated Passover AFTER Easter?
Happened last year.

Actually, yes, it does. The Catholic church took a lot of stuff from Jerusalem, and, when they saw there was a religion that a lot of people believed in, they started to use it as a way to expand their power and land.
And.......because most of the people in Europe at the time (including Rome), were pagans, they mixed in a lot of their rituals, combined them with Christianity, and came up with Catholicism.
