Why does the left hate our religion?

Carbon dating is based off of a faulty scientific premise. it has been used to disprove itself on more than one occasion. the Christian bible also is not opposed to pre adamic animal life. scratch the Dino argument and carry on.

Radiocarbon dating has nothing to do with dinosaurs and their lack of mention in the literary collection of writings known as the Bible. The reason they are not mention is because the men who wrote the various books of the bible simply had no knowledge of the vast history of life on this planet.

You do realize that 95% or better of animal life found on this planet was not mentioned in the Bible, not just the dinosaurs. I always find it amusing when atheists try to drag out the dinosaurs as some kind of 'gotchya' when discussing the Bible. Clearly shows their lack of logical thinking and their desperation.

Why do you think I mentioned the several major extinction events not mentioned by the men who wrote that book? Carbon 14 dating is only accurate till about 14 thousand years ago. It is useless when tying to establish dates for when dinosaurs roamed the Earth.

I don't have any religion; what religion do you think I have? I think you might worship at the altar of the Strawman...

CMM:

An argument can be made that the health and welfare of all citizens is good for each individual...

That's your religion, and you're willing to force that belief via government control on those in society that don't agree with you. Using that little comment, there's nothing that you can't force on the individual for 'their own good'. Far more dangerous than any religion I know of.

You are living in a constitutional republic with mostly democratic practices, so guess what, bright eyes? You are in the minority of that election cycle. Your problem, no one else.

No! My thanks for educating me, I had no idea!! A constitutional republic?? Really?

This should be good... what minority is that Jake?

You are sounding stupidly again, nothing new.

ACA is the legitimate law of the land. You don't like it? Who cares.

WTF are you talking about Jakey? Who said anything about the ACA, are you losing it?

i am responding to your attack on the bolded above. Get over it.

But that's not what I was referring to either. Most animals in existence at that time are not mentioned in the Bible, so why would you expect them to all be mentioned? Your comments make no sense.

Blinds argument is predicated upon a theory that the earth is believed to be 6000 years old. very few Christians hold to that theory seeing as the creation story in genesis reveals the water being parted and the land already existing. also the Hebrew language used when God promised not to flood the earth again alludes to the earth being flooded more than once which could have accounted for the extinction of the dinosaurs. that argument aside it is foolish to assume that carbon dating which dates rock formations as older than the trees they are on top of is some kind of valid means of dating.

that being said Christianity is hated for the same reason that all governments and religions are hated, rules go against wants. in a society that upholds freedom and democracy the odds are in favor of the public freely choosing societal suicide by the removal of moral laws and social norms. both of which are subject to interpretation for the short term and more favorably interpreted with foreknowledge evaluating historical trends and future possibilities. Christianity hinders the want and in a society that rewards the wanters Christianity will be put to the wayside.

Radiocarbon dating only dates the remains of living creatures, not rocks. Furthermore, my mentioning of the various authors of the books of the Bible ignoring the fossil record is because they were ignorant of the fossil record when they wrote the books. It really had nothing to do with the silly notion that the Earth is mere 6000 years old.

The only people that I've seen with the 'silly notion' that the Earth is only 6,000 years old are atheists such as yourself.

Before Christ there was Rome with its absence of family, whore houses on every corner, and blood sport Coliseum. After Christ there was the 10 commandments and the marital vow to love, honor, obey, and cherish your family.

Indeed, Christ created civilization on earth and is still the source of civilization but sadly a liberal will lack the IQ to understand and so fear Christianity more than Islam even when Islam has vowed to cut our heads off while we are still alive.
Don't mix Christ up with "let him die" and "feed the poor and they will breed". Republican's religion and the true Christian religion have nothing in common.

[QUOTE="EdwardBaiamonte, post: 10133084, member: 34008"... Christ created civilization on earth and is still the source of civilization ...
The dark ages would more accurately be called the Age of Christianity. It was the time when the Christian church, at that time the Catholic church, was all powerful It's the time when "witches" were burned at the stake. Cats were slaughtered, thinking they had something to do with Satan, which led to an over-population of mice and rats, which led to the plague. The ancient greeks knew the earth was round, the Christians didn't because it wasn't in the bible.

To use Christianity and civilized in the same sentence is, well. just wrong, and almost obscene. Read about Hypatia, a female mathematician in ancient Alexandria. She was mutilated by a mob of Christians. Thank you Jesus. But they had brothels, so it's ok I guess.[/QUOTE]

How many years ago was that?

And do you have proof?

BTW, the "Dark" part of the dark ages was dark because Christianity wasn't established, and the roman empire had withdrawn.

Enlightenment came as the Word was spread among the people, and as the church increased it's influence...bringing education and a more sophisticated (and yes, civilized) social structure to the people.

I'll take that as you do not know why God doesn't explain why it allowed the dinosaurs to live on Earth for millions of years and then it killed them off?

And far right subversive Christians can be identified as ones who say that far right social cons do not believe in the 6000 year earth.

Why would you think He would have or should have whenever 95% of living animal forms living on the Earth weren't mentioned in the Bible either? Why weren't elephants mentioned? Or thousands of other creatures? Your 'argument' makes no sense whatsoever.

Progressives despise Christianity because Christians have ALWAYS stood fast against human rights violations, no matter how convoluted and bizarre the law becomes. Christians will die before they recant, they will die before they offer up their children to the state, and they will die before they support any ideology that forces them to act against the will of God.

Progressives hate that, because they are always pushing for more depraved lifestyles and legalized murder.

Exodus 22:25-27English Standard Version (ESV)
25 “If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be like a moneylender to him, and you shall not exact interest from him. 26 If ever you take your neighbor's cloak in pledge, you shall return it to him before the sun goes down, 27 for that is his only covering, and it is his cloak for his body; in what else shall he sleep? And if he cries to me, I will hear, for I am compassionate.
