Why Does the Left Oppose Fracking?

See, repubs pretend to want to know. Then once they are told they claim the reason for the opposition isn't real. Then once an EPA link is posted saying the thing the right is claiming isn't real..really is real. They then go to their last resort...name calling and jokes.

:eusa_doh:

Ok, so, what is it then guys? Since you've clearly proved that there's no credible debate about potential blowback from the practice... What is the motivation for opposition?

Is it another conspiracy?

Q) Why does the left oppose Fracking?
A) Because it falls into category #2 below and sets up an excuse to enact #1.

The Left's general stance on things are:

#1 Support of programs and policies which redistribute wealth and income from one group to another.

#2 Opposition to private activities which they deem are not subject to enough of #1. The opposition is used to foment support to apply taxes, fees and/or fines in order to fund #1.

Had wind or solar ever taken off, it would quickly become big wind and big solar.

I can just imagine all the Bird Restoration Taxes in order to repopulate bird populations that are being "decimated" by Big Wind.

Is it really about ground water contamination, etc.? I think not. :eusa_whistle:

I think it most definitely has to do with ground contamination. Have you ever witnessed first hand the effects? I have and it's actually pretty horrifying. We are doing some pretty awful things to our environment, and this is really going to begin hurting humankind as a whole in the not so distant future.

Some people what to try to reverse this trend.

.

Please expand on this "first hand" knowledge.

Why Does the Left Oppose Fracking?

They oppose anything that would return America to job creation and prosperity. All they do is oppose the things that made this country great. They have the wind at their back with a wimpy, president who loves to print money for their entitlements. This way, for the first time in his life, he "feels the power" and is passing it along to those who feel none. He is "new money and new power" and he is not for much longer.

Fracking is like Goebbel's Warming to the enviro-nazis. They will link it to absolutely anything in order to make sure it is stopped.

Send in the drama llama.

I don't oppose fracking, but I don't think burying my head in the sand and pretending it has no downsides is a good idea either.

Everything has a cause and effect relationship. Or an unseen consequence.

it's fien to be informed and want to be sure techniques are assessed for the best outcome. it's another entirely to want to ban something completely, while you use it. Such as the Goebbel's Warming diehard fans that drive everywhere in their car. using oil to heat their home, etc...

It's astounding how closely current events imitate the plot of the novel Atlas Shrugged. Recall the part where one of the protagonist found a way to get oil from places where it was previously thought not to exist?

Liberals oppose the use of our own oil....by any method of extraction. They would rather loan (give away) money to foreign countries to develop their own extraction methods so they can sell us oil in return.

Liberalism is a mental disorder.

Liberals would like to see civilization come to a complete halt. That's why the oppose fracking.

They want to regulate it, with a service liek the EPA, that they then claim is wrong on the study. :lmao:

This is the type of backwards bullshit we see regularly from these nutjobs. They want it regulated! But then when the regulator comes back and says what they dont want to hear, they look for a way to marginalize the regulators findings. Or claim they're conspiring against the people for the evil rich 1%.

it's a real mind fuck with these people.

the real mind fuck is your posts

The industry and dupes like you keep making an environmental issue a battle between left wing or environmental regulation extremists and the industry and conservatives. It is not. It is a reframing propagandist move

Turds like you keep trying to paint your ideological agenda as an environment issue.

Early fracking technologies were problematic.

My understanding is that they've ironed out the bugs. So much so that the coal industry is shitting their pants.

If fracking is cheaper and more efficient than coal, why to conservatives still blame Obama for the the coal industry's troubles -- don't you believe in the free market?

You should be embarrassed for yourself, posting those rube videos.

Yes, it is. Groundwater is like, important and stuff. Putting shit in it that goes into ppl is like, ungood. The Fracking companies see it differently...so I guess the jury is still out on drinking contaminated water and if it's a good or bad thing

Energy is like, important and stuff. Living in the cold and dark is like, ungood.

The left doesn’t oppose fracking.

The left is opposed to destruction of the environment and Americans being made needlessly ill by corporate entities placing profit over people.

If a given oil company is able to extract oil via fracking without destroying the environment and Americans being made needlessly ill, then the left is all for it.

Here is my opinion. Liberals live in their own world. My guess is most of them are urban. Thus frackin has no impact on them at all. The impact they see and hate the most is that someone else is getting money and they are not because of the liberal's life choice. So they choose what they think makes them on the moral high ground. To hell with the farmer making money. To hell with energy independence. The amount of people that fracking can help far eclipse the few that MIGHT have their water polluted.

The truth, as I read it, is if fracking is done right then there is almost no risk.. Pollution happens when mistakes are made or someone violates the law. In both cases the companies should be made to pay.
