The GOP continually believes that less government and tax cuts for the rich will somehow make America this great economy and yet history has proved otherwise. We can use the Reagan model of cutting taxes and reducing government all day long, but the facts speak differently. Reagan had in fact, left office with the biggest deficit on record up to that time and the only people that got rich, were the rich and lets not forget, Reagan didn't have a global economy looming, ie NAFTA. US corporations may have the highest tax burdens, but they don't pay the 38%...if anything, they pay less...and yet we have dumb as white voters believing if only their employer paid just a little bit less, he'd get a raise, hire more people and life gets better for them....never happens, never will happen and yet...they believe this crock of shit.

Well, I don't know anything about economics or tax cuts or whatever, but I was a young adult who suffered under a tough economy in the 70's, with soaring inflation and not enough jobs, but after Regan took over, SOMETHING worked. The interest rates for loans came way down, jobs got more plentiful and inflation came under control. SOMETHING happened. So I voted for him the second time, too. I'm no idiot.
I keep scratching my head about these people who say Reganomics didn't work. They worked for a pink collar single mom; I assume they worked for a lot of people.

Fact: How you interpret the Reagan years depends on how to evaluate the metrics. Unemployment went down, but that was due to the formation of cheap, low-paying jobs. Taxes went down for the top earners, but went up for the middle class. Corporate profits went up, but the savings and loan collapse vaporized a good deal of that capital. Inflation went down, but wages remained stagnant and union-busting ensured that worker power was kept curbed. Offshoring picked up considerably, dooming many American jobs but providing plentiful cheap labor for many American companies. All in all, it was a great time for Reagan's corporate friends, but not for their employees. Reagan's presumption was that if his friends at the top of the economic hierarchy had more money, they'd send it raining down onto those at the bottom. That didn't happen. Instead, that money was redirected into offshore accounts and international asset markets.

I wish you were right, I wish the GOP thought that tax cuts increased job growth and increased revenue to the federal government but sadly many of them do not.

They have become like democrats, living well in DC they place blinders on to real problems that real people have. That is how we get some angry do nothing old man to give a thumbs down to a chance at a better health care plan for the people.

Higher taxes surely do not equal more for you or I.

The GOP continually believes that less government and tax cuts for the rich will somehow make America this great economy and yet history has proved otherwise. We can use the Reagan model of cutting taxes and reducing government all day long, but the facts speak differently. Reagan had in fact, left office with the biggest deficit on record up to that time and the only people that got rich, were the rich and lets not forget, Reagan didn't have a global economy looming, ie NAFTA. Still the GOP cling relentlessly to the Reagan model of less gov and tax cuts....and there in lies their problems...so what do they do? They abuse and use ignorant white voters who've blindly bought into the Reagan bullshit and they exploit them election year after election year after election year. US corporations may have the highest tax burdens, but they don't pay the 38%...if anything, they pay less...and yet we have dumb as white voters believing if only their employer paid just a little bit less, he'd get a raise, hire more people and life gets better for them....never happens, never will happen and yet...they believe this crock of shit.

The reason the GOP can't govern, is because they don't have real tangible ideas on how things work in the real world. You give tax cuts to the rich, jobs decrease, rather than increase and the only beneficiaries of that, are off shore countries such as India and China, just ask the Trumps....You reduce government spending, then the burden is placed on the states, who in turn over tax its citizens, so really nobody wins....but white people can't seem to grasp at those facts.The GOP is a party of fear mongering and attacks, that's all they know how to do because they don't see real voters that are impacted by their laws. They only see the voters who are gerrymandered in their districts, that works fine and dandy when your home, but once you hit Washington, its a whole new program, something none are prepared for....its called being among the big boys and gals.

The only party that knows how to get shit done and has a record to back it up, are liberal democrats!!

Well, I don't know anything about economics or tax cuts or whatever, but I was a young adult who suffered under a tough economy in the 70's, with soaring inflation and not enough jobs, but after Regan took over, SOMETHING worked. The interest rates for loans came way down, jobs got more plentiful and inflation came under control. SOMETHING happened. So I voted for him the second time, too. I'm no idiot.
I keep scratching my head about these people who say Reganomics didn't work. They worked for a pink collar single mom; I assume they worked for a lot of people.

Fact: How you interpret the Reagan years depends on how to evaluate the metrics. Unemployment went down, but that was due to the formation of cheap, low-paying jobs. Taxes went down for the top earners, but went up for the middle class. Corporate profits went up, but the savings and loan collapse vaporized a good deal of that capital. Inflation went down, but wages remained stagnant and union-busting ensured that worker power was kept curbed. Offshoring picked up considerably, dooming many American jobs but providing plentiful cheap labor for many American companies. All in all, it was a great time for Reagan's corporate friends, but not for their employees. Reagan's presumption was that if his friends at the top of the economic hierarchy had more money, they'd send it raining down onto those at the bottom. That didn't happen. Instead, that money was redirected into offshore accounts and international asset markets.

Do you not remember 400 dollar hammers and 600 dollar toilet seats from defense spending? Welfare hotels springing up in NY? Vets camping out on the white house properties? The Aides crisis, that he completely ignored? Yes some people did benefit, but a vast majority did not, as with Obama....like I said, I had not issues under Obama.

Taxes went down for the top earners, but went up for the middle class.

Prove it.
