Environmental issues, reproductive rights, workplace safety, treaties and cooperation with our allies, healthcare, voting rights and voter suppression, the right of each American to choose his/her own religion, the scourge of authoritarianism, gun violence. If you look at polling border control has a high level of bipartisan support. There are a lot of ways of doing that. High tech surveillance at the border, increase the number of border control agents, increase the number of judges to speed up the process, make use of electronic monitoring devices and increase the number of workers needed to handle caseloads awaiting hearings. All of these either work to prevent illegal entry and speed up the backlog of people awaiting hearings. In addition we can speed up the deportation of those convicted of violent crimes. This costs a lot less than a wall and massive tent cities to hold people indefinitely and have significant downsides to them. And these also have widespread support from the left.

Because we oppose militarizing the border and separating families that does not mean we oppose border control yet the right constantly promotes that.

The Right is intellectually paralyzed by the madness being spread by talk radio and amplified by Trump. I do believe they're really terrified. They pretty much live on hyperbole right now, so there's just no talking them down.

That doesn't change my point, though.
