Widely Denounced As Propaganda, al-Dura Rpt Calls Attn To 950 Other Child Killings

"...That is a 1948 map of Palestine. Where is Israel?..."
You are looking at it.

The very nanosecond that they declared their Independence as a nation within the boundaries of the UN Partition Plan of 1947, that part of Palestine BECAME the State of Israel.

They confirmed and sustained that existence in the most significant and recognizable and time-honored manner possible, on the battlefield, by force of arms.

Hanging onto Obsolete Legal Understandings for 65 years will do you no good.

The battlefield results of 1948 swept those aside and into the dustbin of history.

This is not exactly news to the rest of the world, by now.

The Arabs lost.

No they didn't. That is just another Israeli lie. An armistice was called by UN Security Council resolution. Nobody lost that war.

You're joking, right?

Not at all.

The Parties to the present Agreement, responding to the Security Council resolution of 16 November 1948 calling upon them, as a further provisional measure under Article 40 of the Charter of the United Nations and in order to facilitate the transition from the present truce to permanent peace in Palestine, to negotiate an Armistice; having decided to enter into negotiations under United Nations Chairmanship concerning the implementation of the Security Council resolutions of 4 and 16 November 1948; (2) and having appointed representatives empowered to negotiate and conclude an Armistice Agreement;

Oh, the UN stepped-in and parlayed several truces, and an Armistice alright, in connection with the 1948 War.

Because, against all odds, the Jews had fought the five Arab armies to a standstill, and were beginning to make inroads with their counterattacks.

As I alluded-to earlier...

The Arabs tried to kill the infant State of Israel and failed - they lost.

The Jews stayed alive and preserved the infant State of Israel - they won.

Close enough.

And, of course, having come close again to extinction, in the early going of that war, the Jews determined to remake themselves into a regional military power, so that the Arabs could never attack them again with good prospects for success... and the Jews pulled it off... they made that happen.

Today, the General Staff of any of those five Arab countries (who attacked in 1948) would pee their pants if they were suddenly pitted against Israel.

The Palestinians really should have come to terms while there was still time... but that's behind them now... too late.

Funny, those borders are not on the 1948 map. The 1947 proposed borders never became borders.

Not really. Since Israel did not win that war, it won nothing.

They won nothing?

Then why aren't they dead, and Palestine a unified Arab land?

You can play with words all the live-long day, PF, but the reality is quite different, I'm afraid.

But you knew that before you even wrote this last bit, didn't you?

It is called occupation. Israel sits inside Palestine's international borders by military force.

"Roudy, there was an autralian woman on a youtube video that said the age was 10. She was weeping during the video and said she was shocked to learn that the Hamas started using children as soldiers at age 10. She said when she asked the palestinian about how many children are used as warriors at age 10 they told her "All of Them"...

Hossfly put that story up a month or so ago. Do you remember that?[/QUOTE]

Jeremiah. I think you made it up or it was something happening somewhere else or it was propaganda or you are simply mistaken. Using children as child soldiers is not a problem in Israel or Palestine. We do not have human rights groups documenting such problems on either side.

Don't look now, PF, but there's not much left of so-called Palestine anymore, and it will have disappeared altogether within the next two decades, annexed by Israel, as they complete the acquisition of all territories which they consider part of Eretz Yisrael. Occupation is merely an interim step. Annexation is the goal. And they're succeeding at it beyond their wildest expectations. In another two decades the Palestinian population will be dispersed into the surrounding Arab nations and the few postage-stamp -sized parcels of land still recognizable as Palestine will be a permanent part of Israel, populated by Jews. The world will breathe a sigh of relief and forget all about this - quickly.

You seem to be very weak on history for all your input. Israel succeeded in establishing a state and 100 of 1000s of Palestinians were displaced paving the way for Jewish settlers. Whew!

Unfortunately, for Israel, Israel is inside Palestine.

That will catch up with them sooner or later.

That's what the Ottomans thought...

"Next year in Jerusalem..."

(the chant of Jews for 1900 years, from the Fall of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. to the launching of the New State in 1948)

You're dreaming, PF.

Those for whom you advocate would be well-advised to consider where they plan to live next, because it sure-as-hell isn't going to be where they live now, or anywhere else within the present or future permanent boundaries of the State of Israel.

The game-clock is running down...

Occupiers come and occupiers go in the Middle East.

Sherri, why do you keep on thanking Tinmore, when you think only the West Bank is occupied, while he believes all Israel is occupied? If you want to end the occupation in the West Bank, then you can't subscribe to Tinmore's obsolete and delusional beliefs. You can't work for a certain goal, unless you define that goal.

The 1949 armistice agreements show that Palestine's borders remained unchanged. So, where is Israel?

:cuckoo:

You need to read those armistice agreements.

"...Occupiers come and occupiers go in the Middle East."
True. Unless the native population is driven from the land and the occupiers become the new natives. Which is what seems to be happening here.

Which, in the end, is better treatment than the Palestinians and their Arab neighbors promised the Jews, when promising to drown them in the Mediterranean.
