Women..you choose...do you prefer a gun...or this...to stop being raped...

I think I'd take my chances with a gun. I'm cognizant that if I hesitated, an attacker could take it from me and use it against me, so I would shoot him right in the balls. :D

Center of mass. If you have a gun, and you're in a situation where you have a justifiable need to use it, you aim for center of mass.

“Shooting to wound” only works in movies and TV, not in real life.

I was only joking, Bob. :)

the link is full of shit.

if you are about to be raped and you pull a gun and the attacker takes it from you, you are just going to be raped anyway, but if they don't, you won't be.

however

anything is better than nothing

It's worn as a ring, it can't be taken from you and at PB range is leathal

mace, pepper spray? pfft, the cops tell us not to use it b/c it just really pisses attackers off and rarely works

Agree. Most rapes occur when female victims is at the stage of vulnerability. Unless she is holding her gun or in her waist at all times....Rapist is not going to make an announcement.... "I'm going to rape you now". These bastard will knock the victim down get the gun then proceed. Training in self defense I think is a lot better which is handy all the time. My wife and my daughter went through these training several times. I physically tested them and they are good but no guns.

Sorry…actual research shows you are wrong…and the woman in Colorado raped 50 feet from the campus police station was a black belt…..and had to leave her gun in the car…

Do you actually read any stories of self defense with guns…I would suggest "The Armed Citizen" or "Guns save lives" Guns Save lives actually has a link according to location as well as type of gun to see the various ways guns have been used to actually stop all kinds of crimes.

Guns are the most effective way to stop a rape…..above and beyond any other method.

You are talking about Amanda Collins college student with CC permit but her 9mm is in her car. Actually less than 300 YARDS but not 50 feet as you claimed from police station. If she had her gun with her. Is it in her hand or in her purse? Do you see people walking around with their gun in their hand? She was grab from behind by a large man. Surprised. What option does she has? But to survive. Correct? When and where in that scenario she could have pulled her gun?
Just like my experience in Atlantic City casino parking lot. I just opened my car door when this thug came from behind me. There is no way no and no chance no chance I could have protected myself EVEN if my gun was strap in my waist. Im not against women arming themselves. They can armed themselves whatever they are comfortable with but you cannot convince me that gun is the solution.

Here is her testimony before the Michigan state senate....

"I was raped less than 100 feet away from their campus police office, on the same floor where they park their cruisers."

Same story... Just like I previously mentioned. If Amanda Collins carried her gun. Most likely in her purse. Correct?
James Beila grabbed Amanda Collins from behind with much larger than her. And a pistol on her forehead. So.....Where and When in that scenario she could have pulled her gun to protect herself? Pull her gun from her purse while being rape at the same time a gun in her forehead?
In my case. If I had my gun with me in my waist. . If I tried to pull my gun...He could have easily hurt me or killed me. Correct? I admire your tenacity supporting NRA but that will not and never change my view against guns. You and I can go back and forth with this thus become worthless. I'm out.

How do you know how she carried her gun…? And all of the actual research shows that guns are the most effective way for a woman to stop a rape…..nothing else comes close……

People who already have a gun pointed at them have drawn their weapon and shot their attacker…sometimes doing so having already been shot….the decision to shoot for the victim is made where the attacker can't see it…in the brain. As they see the victim drawing the weapon they have to process that, come to a conclusion about what they are seeing and then decide…yes, they are going to cross that line and murder that person….and then take action…..

Have you ever studied self defense? Because you really should.
