Yes, You're A Communist

Just trying to do the math here.

If you're to the left of hardcore right wing partisan ideologues, you're a commie. Let's say 39% of people are Republican or lean Republican, 23% of people are solid Republican, see below.

So that means that about 77% of Americans are commies.

This is disturbing.

I don't look good in red.

If you support a centrally planned and managed economy where the state controls the means of production, you support Communism (in the common vernacular.) The democratic - socialist party under Obama, Hillary, and Sanders advocates exactly this.
Could you provide a link that proves that any of them want the state to control means of production?

If you're serious about that - and not just engaging in hyperbole - that would mean that they want the state to control ALL means of production.

That's communism.
.

That's one example of one politician threatening to nationalize one industry.

That's not communism, not even close.

The clichés, tired as they are, at least never stay dormant long enough for mold to form. Well, the back-patters have gotten their opportunity to trot out their tantrums and redundant blatherings about their vague, misunderstood visions.
They should be thankful.

Well, no one should need to be reminded of the goons used against workers before the end of the glorious reign of 'unfettered capitalism', but that's a start. There have been endless examples; one hardly knows where to begin. In general, monopolies all apply. Economic pressure on politicians, communities, individuals...
Can it be seriously questioned that examples are rife?

Monopolies cannot exist without the collusion of the state. Capitalism cannot create monopolies and in fact will stop all but natural monopolies from ocuring.

You seriously have not a fucking clue what you are babbling about. Take an introductory to economics theory class.

And, to use your term, what is insane about the Leftist voters, is that they accept the view that inveterate politicians....with no business experience, can run "a centrally planned and managed economy where the state controls the private economy.

My first witness....George McGovern

"In 1988, I invested most of the earnings from this lecture circuit acquiring the leasehold on Connecticut’s Stratford Inn. … In retrospect, I wish I had known more about the hazards and difficulties of such a business, especially during a recession of the kind that hit New England just as I was acquiring the inn’s 43-year leasehold.I also wish that during the years I was in public office, I had had this firsthand experience about the difficulties business people face every day. That knowledge would have made me a better U.S. senator and a more understanding presidential contender."

George McGovern
How To Create Jobs, By George McGovern

Rather than any business sense, Leftists run the economy thus:

Good Intentions + coercion = solution

Yes, it's Communism.

Attacking those who dare name reality, does not alter the nature of reality.

So it's not communism until the last lemonaid stand falls under federal control?

I like you Mac, I respect you and agree with you more often than not, but this is absurd. Change of this type is pursued incrementally by nature and necessity.

Healthcare
Education
Power
Water

All of these are openly and actively pursued by the left to be directly managed by the state.

It is Communism. Reality is, even if reality is uncomfortable.

The country has always had elements of what could be called "socialism".

One tax, one regulation, one government program. We could call that "socialism" if we wanted.

This all exists on a continuum. Binary thinkers like the OP are paralyzed by hyperbole, and it really doesn't help the argument. If you scream "SOCIALISM" or "COMMUNISM" at programs like Medicare or Social Security, many people are going to say, "well, I like those programs, so socialism must be okay". In other words, binary hyperbole damages the cause. The OP is too consumed by her partisan ideology to see that.

It's your call. But my argument is that this type of hyperbolic approach is clearly counter-productive to your agenda.

I would say that most democrats support most planks of the communist manifesto to at least some degree.

Let's lay out the planks once more:

And unfortunately, the republicans favor many as well, for example the central bank.... any politician tremendously benefits from communism/socialism, and so do the special interest groups (in short, all parasites and coercive short term oriented people). That's why it must be so highly resisted.

If Hillary were to win, and in an act meant to "save us from Global Warming" nationalizes the power grid, as so many of the left have demanded, is that not advancing the transition from a free market to communism?

You complain of binary thinking, yet this is precisely what you demonstrate when you say that anything save complete government take over of every last business is still capitalism. democrats support a command economy and constantly strive toward that goal, This is simple reality.

What I actually said is that this all exists on a continuum. On one end is pure anarchy, on the other end is pure communism. We're nowhere near either; but this hyperbole strategy is playing into the hands of your adversaries.

The key to Communism is plank 1. How many Democrats in public office can you name who support the abolition of private property?

.

In your view, was the Soviet Union a "Communist" country? They obviously existed on the same continuum. The state never faded away to the pure sharing of all things by enlightened workers.

With the move of every portion of the economy from free enterprise to state controlled, we become a less free people and move closer to the side of the spectrum called "Communism."

Where does the name change? At the 50 yard line? Seems as rational of a view as any. We still fall on the market side of the field, but the dims are pushing the ball down field at an alarming rate.

Pretty much every one of them wants to allocate more wealth to the government and public purpose.

So you're a Communist if you want a public education system that offers all children a basic education regardless of their ability to pay?

Doesn't that make every state in the Union Communist? Doesn't that make every country in the civilized world Communist?

Doesn't that make most of humanity Communist?
