For me it even goes farther.

One of the engineers I worked with invited the entire department to a party at his house. He was 30 and I was 60. I hung out in the back yard with his father who was barbecuing hamburgers and ribs. Like me he was a veteran and we were drinking beer and having a good time.
His son looked perturbed as he asked me if he could talk privately. He took me off to the side and told me it was creeping him out I was spending all my time talking to his father. After all, he worked with me. I should be talking to him. I told him me and his father were the same age. We had a lot in common and besides work, I don't feel all that comfortable hanging around with someone half my age.

He looked so surprised. He said when you put it like that, it makes sense.

Refusing to pay for services rendered that you don't feel were up to par is something that businesses all across the nation do on a daily basis without a peep from anyone on the left! It's part of being in business. If you didn't get what you agreed to pay for...then you refuse to pay.

Free markets have a way of dealing with both the people who don't provide what they contracted to provide and those who don't pay what they should. The former don't get hired once word gets around and the latter won't have anyone willing to work for them once the word gets around. Quite frankly...you don't stay in business long if you're either of those.
