You think blackouts have been bad historically? So how will you drive to work with an EV?

Now my question is this. According to the attached analysis if just 20% of all US cars and trucks are EVs in the future, where will the additional
2,625,582,925,124 kWh come from if today the USA is using 4,165,030,000,000 kWh annually?

How would you get gas? Gas pumps work by electricity, you know.

Simple to do a search!!!

BACK UP POWER REQUIREMENTS FOR SERVICE STATIONS
By: Paul Frisman, Principal Analyst

You asked about state laws requiring service stations to have back up power sources to provide emergency power during a power outage.
An onsite emergency generator shall be provided with a Type II essential electrical distribution system in accordance with requirements of NFPA 99, §4.5 (2), and National Fire Protection Association 110, Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems, 2002 Edition.
Florida gas stations issued a certificate of occupancy after July 1, 2006, must be prewired with a transfer switch to enable emergency power after a prolonged power outage, but they are not required to have a backup generator actually on site

I was initially thinking a hybrid vehicle but now it seems like having at least another vehicle that runs off of gasoline would be a backup plan.
You seem to be aware of issues. Let me ask you this.
If you were a business person who heard the following what would you think of your business future and based on the objective of the statement
as the person in charge of making sure an orderly transition would occur, what would you do in the short term and prepare for the long term?
Here is the statement:...""I want you to look into my eyes, I guarantee We Are Going To Get Rid of Fossil Fuels”
If you were in the fossil fuel industry, would you find the following statement accurate?
My personal view is there will never be another new refinery built” on U.S. soil, said Wirth.
You’re looking at committing capital 10 years out, that will need decades to offer a return for shareholders, in a policy environment where governments around the world are saying, ‘We don’t want these products.’

The grid can't even handle air conditioning....the loons want to add millions of EVs?

This madness has to end

I understand your point and tend to actually agree with it except I don't think I have enough information to be able to honestly answer your question. Like I previously indicated, I wouldn't be opposed to having a hybrid but I think I would like to keep a gasoline vehicle as well.

It's too early for me to feel 100% confident going straight to an all electrical vehicle. All I have to do is remember what it was like at the airports when everyone was trying to charge their cell phones at the same time and there were not enough outlets for everyone. This was after our planes couldn't take off due to bad weather at our destination and it being a holiday weekend :-(

The question to you though was what would you do as a worker in the fossil fuels industry if the President of the USA says...
"I want you to look into my eyes, I guarantee We Are Going To Get Rid of Fossil Fuels”

This is the result...

Oil industry, workers' groups unleash on Biden after 'no more drilling' pledge: 'Devastating to Americans'

Biden:"no more drilling...there is no more drilling...I haven’t formed any new drilling.www.forbes.com
So just to repeat... would you want to be part of an industry that the President of the USA wants to destroy?

Perhaps the naming of "Fossil Fuels" needs to be changed. The living breathing earth that Progressive Socialists genuflect to produces these products naturally. So, these are "Natural Fuels". Oil, Gasoline, Diesel. Propane, Coal, and the rest that technology helps with it.

So the POTUS looks me in the eye and tells me that he/they are going to make my job "redundant". What would I do? Find another industry that has a need for my skills & experience I suppose.

And not only you but investors!
Read what the Chevron CEO said...
U.S. Will Never Build Another Oil Refinery, Chevron CEO Says
My personal view is there will never be another new refinery built” on U.S. soil, said Wirth.

So any wonder gas prices increased! When the President says "I Guarantee to rid fossil fuels"... CEOs of companies like Chevron have a built in excuse
to raise prices..."Hey Biden... you want to get rid of us... OK... well in the meantime we have to make enough money to protect our investments! Raising prices!

These are the world’s largest banks that are increasing and decreasing their fossil fuel financing

According to Ben Ratner, a senior director at the Environmental Defense Fund who leads the business energy transition team, “alongside reducing overall funding to the fossil fuel industry, banks should use their most powerful tools – like loan eligibility and rates – to incentivize corporate clients to reduce polluting practices like methane emissions and gas flaring, while transitioning to sustainable business models.”

The two banks that increased fossil fuel financing the most are in China

So Western banks are decreasing while China increasing fossil fuel companies loans.
HMMMM.... So will we soon see .....naw!!!
