You were never slaves in Egypt

They are also taking it out of context, they (the Jews of that period) had never been slaves. It in no way includes the Hebrews in the time of Moses.
The Jews told Jesus they were descendants of Abraham (before the exodus).

That passage in John is irrelevant to the thread. The gospels have incredible explanatory power regarding history.

John 8:33
Moses came along about a thousand year after Abraham. It is speculated that not all of the tribes were enslaved in Egypt.

The Jews of Egypt were not always enslaved there either only when their populations grew to a point of worrying Egyptian officials their numbers were reaching the point at which they could threaten the existing system were actions taken to slowly bring theme into bondage and control their numbers.

Jews of different families and tribes had already moved on exploring new lands prior to that series of events.

The Levites and Joseph's tribe were not put into servitude.
The verses are explicit that no Jews were allowed to leave Egypt.

Egypt ruled Canaan and Sina at the time of the Exodus. The Egyptians left and went back to Egypt.

I understand errors when I see them.
If Tanach had such passages I don't understand I would have dropped my copy in a garbage can decades ago.
If everything was clear Rabbis, Priests, Pastors and Scholars would have very little to discuss. We'd also only have one Mosaic religion world wide.

Canaan and the rest of what is now modern day Palestine were ruled by different tribal city states and what were essentially colonies of what is now believed to be Phoenicians and Philistines.

There was no universal rule by an empire across the whole of the region.

That is why there was no peace in "The Land of Milk and Honey" for the Jews for many years upon their return.

Jews traveled into and out of Egypt off and on for centuries but a large portion of them after being invited to settle in Goshen during a famine in Palestine eventually become enslaved when their numbers grew unfortunately large.

Seriously you got to be joking the Jews Jesus was talking were in fact lying. It is a fact they were subjugated to the Roman empire at the very time they opened their mouth. And that is a verifiable fact.
The Jews of Palestine fared pretty well until Pontius Pilate became governor. He was eventually removed by Rome and executed because his brutality made the region ungovernable and unprofitable back at home.

A hell of a lot of interesting history in that period.

They were still subjugated to Ceaser the Roman empire. So those Jews talking with Jesus were lying

Mostly they were just taxed by the empire. They were self governing and allowed to worship as they pleased which was what was most important to them.

Pilate started levying his own taxes in addition to those of the empire which spawned rebellion. The more violence he used in trying to quell the rebellion the more he taxed them and it became a vicious never ending circle of violence and lost revenues until Rome realized what was happening and returned him to Rome in Disgrace.

This is why there is so little documentation in Roman Records of his time as governor they wanted to make his failures disappear from the records, the same way the Pharos would strike all mention of those they declared enemies from their records.

The gov't wrote the official histories of the day.

They were under Roman rule, for the most part during that period they were self governing and went on with their lives pretty much the same as always.

"subjugation" doesn't always mean mistreatment.

Romans didn't enter the picture picture until quite late. 63 BC. Things were much worse under Antiochus IV.
