5 Founding Fathers' Skepticism About Christianity Would Make Them Unelectable Today

Bush 4 trillion in 8 years.
Obama 4 Trillion in 3 years.

Both are bad no matter how you look at it.

And this is part of what I have been saying that it's been bad by both parties for 30 years, since 1982.

The day president Obama assumed the responsibility in the white house the annual interest on the existing debt was $450,000,000,000. We pay nothing on the existing debt but every year we must pay the interest or face default in the world market. Three years at $450,000,000,000..... how about adding $1.35 trillion to the Reagan-Bushes debt and subtracting that amount from Obama's.

The only people who don't believe it are blind assholes who support the rich and powerful every phuckin day of their lives.

When are the median percentile of the citi ens of these United States going to reali e that they are sheep
So, you have nothing to back up your ludicrous claim.

Fail.

Let them fly out

The G.H.W. Bush family made the arrangements. You didn't think George was going to interfere with something his daddy and mama was doing did you. Like I said before....Big Oil Makes For Strange Bedfellows.

You still haven't explained why George W. Bush went back on his pledge to get Bin Laden. When the spec ops had him pinned down in Toro Boro Bush suddenly changed his mind. After that every time the press asked him about Bin Laden he had mysteriously lost interest.

I see lots of moonbat horseshit, but I don't see any corroboration.

Of course, that's because there isn't any.

It fascinates me that you guys ignore the fact that Reagan and Bush's daddy quadrupled the total debt, Clinton balanced the annual budget and left surpluses projected all the way to the outyears then George W. Bush cut taxes twice, began to borrow from Communist Chinese banks for the first time in American history and doubled the total debt again.

Then the day Obama's first budget became effective the annual interest on the Reagan-Bushes debt was $450,000,000,000 and has to be paid each year or we go into default. You people don't have enough sense to pour piss from a boot with the instructions written on the heel.

The U.S. does not borrow money from Chinese banks.
China buys our U.S. Treasury bonds.

I am saying that both are at fault.

Thomas Jefferson believed that a coolly rational form of religion would take root in America. Was he ever wrong.

To hear the Religious Right tell it, men like George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison were 18th-century versions of Jerry Falwell in powdered wigs and stockings. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I do not believe the Founders had any problem with Christianity per se.
But they had a large problem with the influences the Christian religion had on all the countries in Europe and how Christianity fully supported the rights of the monarchs getting their power and marching orders from God through divine right.
To stomp out and on the rights of the common man.
The Constitution clearly illustrates that fear of religion in government as God and any power given by God to anyone is not there.
For a reason.
Fact is there is NO religous requirement of any kind clearly stated in the Constitution for that reason.

Wrong.
They had a problem with GOVERNMENTS forcing citizens to adhere to any particular religion, or recant any particular religion.

Their problem was never with religion. They stated over and over that people should be free to worship as they please. Hence their governmental hands-off policy.

I think it's sad and scary that today's loons believe just the opposite. That our founding fathers were afraid of religion, and wanted the government to protect us from RELIGION. Absolutely not what they intended or said they envisioned.

koshergirl, the concern was with both: government and organized religion's corruption of one another when mingled.

The U.S. is the freest nation in the world religiously because of our secular constitution.

We're the freest in the world because our founding fathers saw the need to tie the hands of government when it came to religion. I.e., government has no say over what or how we worship.

Find me the quotes that show that the founding fathers were afraid of the power of religion.

And organized religion has no legal place in government, for it will corrupt both government and itself.

Find me the quotes that demonstrate that FFs were not afraid of organized religion's influence on government.

Caveat: a difference exists between religious value and religious organizations.

The founders knew that difference, I hope you do.
