A Texas-Sized Question: Herschel Walker getting tax break in 2022 on Texas home intended for primary residence

How can Herschel Walker represent Georgians when he doesn't even claim Georgia as his primary residence? He is not fit to serve, my friends!

Walker is incompetent and corrupt – a true conservative and Republican.

Citizenship in Texas?
Has Texas seceded from the Union?
Why are you ignoring he's a tax fraudster n thief, in Texas?

You can own property in ALL states. IT HAS NOTHING to do with Walker claiming he is a Texas citizen in government paperwork, in order to get a property tax exemption available for Texas CITIZENS? (not for 'out of state' people owning property in Texas)

So he's simply a tax cheat in Texas, but a Georgia citizen.... So he is eligible to run for Senator in GA.

That's unconstitutional, States can't add requirements for federal office beyond what the Constitution requires. You'd think the State AG would have told them that. A simple federal court challenge could have gotten it thrown out.

.

If the State changes its residency laws wouldn’t that essentially accomplish what this bill attempts to do without violating the Constitution? So if Tennessee passes a law mandating that you live there 3 years before you can claim residency.

That would mean that people that moved there couldn't vote either. Don't think the feds would allow that.

States have residency.......countries have citizenship.

As I pointed out....if he has a business in GA he is a resident. He has to pay taxes in that state...that's residency.
Nevermind the fact that he spends most of his time in the state campaigning.
But if you want to get technical...every member of the US Congress would be disqualified if your rules were valid....because they live in Washington most of the year. Herschel Walker has probably spent more time in Georgia than Rafael Warnock since he was elected.

Wrong answer. The Constitution states the rules if you would bother reading it. It is vague for a reason. The Constitution is supreme to all state laws.
Where in the constitution does it say anything about what constitutes ”state residency”? Take your own advice and read it.

If you stupid fucking commie knew anything about property taxes in TX, you'd know you only apply for a homestead exemption once and it automatically carries over from year to year as long as you own the property. If he didn't sell the property it would be really easy to overlook something like that. And that's exactly what you commie hypocrites would be saying if this were a commiecrat. So just FOAD.

.
Well that does make sense, I guess? If you apply each year.....

or even if like here, for our homestead exemption, you apply once, and then the town every year just applies it on your property tax bill.

Did Walker really move back to Georgia just to run for Senator, because he was asked to?

Walker has a home and businesses in Georgia. He probably lived in TX because he played for the Dallas Cowboys when he was younger.
This story is just a trick designed to peel off votes before an election.

It's based on falsehoods and deceptions.

It works real well on people that never read the contents of a story but instead only read the headlines. The media is just giving Democrats an excuse not to vote for Herschel Walker and instead vote for Warnock. Who cares that listening to his sermons would tell you he's a racist and a socialist. They just don't want you to vote for Herschel Walker.

Walker The Clown, flanked by Lyin Ted & Graham in that Fox interview said the "erection is about the people". Notice the smirk on Lyin Ted's puss & the smug look on Graham's mug as Walker said that & how we can't see the hands of either one of them. Wonder why.

Hmmmm..........interesting. :abgg2q.jpg:

Every state is different! Florida allows you to be a duel resident, a resident in Florida and a resident in another state.... One is your Domicile residence and the other a statutory residence....domicile is the primary address used to file your IRS taxes, and where you are registered to vote and see it as your forever home....statutory residence could be the state you work and live in, or own another home in.

I'm not certain about Texas or Georgia laws on residency....?

Also, I did just that....I'm guilty! I did not read the full article or research their residency laws!

However, I don't think many democrats were ever going to vote for walker in any kind of big numbers, if at all!! Warnock is critical for democrats, it gives them much more power in the senate on things like committees....

So this article Headline, has to be directed towards republicans in doubt of Walker??

Well I checked and you can establish residency by having a business in GA.

And the claim that Herschel Walker cheated on his taxes in TX got blown out of the water earlier.

Sorry, but Walker is legally qualified to run for office in GA....so your one chance of getting him booted out before the run-up election is bogus. This whole story is just a dishonest attempt by Democrats to peel off possible Democrat voters who might want to vote for a Georgia State hero instead of a racist dishonest zero.

Herschel Walker was born in Augusta Georgia. He was raised in Georgia. He played football in H.S. and college in Georgia.
I think he's established his residency.
Ah yes. The law clearly states you are the resident of a state where you played football several decades ago.

Jesus.
