Abortions: Should Women be Allowed to Choose?

Should women be allowed to choose what they do with their bodies? Absolutely.

And they have plenty of options to choose from. Birth control pills, condoms, abstinence and natural sex.

Those are all choices.

Pregnancy isn't a choice; it's the outcome of a decision that had a choice.

And abortions aren't about a woman's body; they're about another body, very much alive, forming within the woman's body. So a woman's "right-to-choose" should be about what the woman does with her body; not the body of an infant she chose to have.

And if we can all agree that every human being is born with the inherent right to live, then abortions are clear violations of this right. As the baby is never consulted with when abortions are decided.

If you had your way and could make abortion against the law,

what criminal penalty would you want to impose on women who broke the law and had an abortion?

Yo sterilize her. Then find the man responsible and sterilize him too. Now they are both neutered animals, which is what they should have been all along.

Maybe you could enlighten us on when an unborn child becomes human. 1 years? 6 months? 1 min? What's the difference between a 1 min old baby and one due in 1 min?

Maybe it is your goulish attitude that needs fixed.

Outrage!

You are too emotional, it seems, to have this discussion.

When do you think a fetus becomes a human being?
Noooooo, you were asked the question, first, LL.....answer it.

Or, do you not have an aswer?

What are you, stupid? A fetus becomes a human being when it is born and can live on its own.

Your turn.

I agree. My wife had three miscarriages and we did not look at them as losing babies, but losing the chance to have a baby.

Sterilizing people is your answer? Perhaps you are the animal.

"...IF we managed to instill in people, starting at a young age, some sense of responsibility and the consequences of actions."

And we wouldn't have dishonest politicians, insincere religious figures, avaricious speculators that caused economic crises, soldiers that followed illegal and immoral orders and most of all the other rampart social ills.

That's what we do to animals who act instinctively without thought. They can't control themselves so we act on their behalf. If it is true that men and women have no more control over their reproductive system than mating curs, we have an obligation to do it for them.

Just for info, what is this poster's position on firearm control?

What new born can live on its own? If that is your criteria then they don't become human until what? Three?

Yes, it sounds so easy.

Like I just said somewhere else, USMB is where you hear what conservatives really believe;

the only reason conservatives have what little support they do is that many people don't know what they really believe.

This is totally incorrect. It is not for the benefit of the animal that we do such a thing. It is out of a human judgment of what is desirable and what is not. Nature makes no mistakes; humans create mistakes by identifying them as such.

I'm really in over my head with you, huh? You are too sharp for me.

You've proven repeatedly you're the least intelligent poster on this forum. Why shouldn't you be sterilized,

using your own standard? Make the case that it would not be in the best interests of society to prevent you from reproducing.

Have you not heard of contraceptives? They allow you to have sex without getting pregnant.

If you don't want a baby, use them. They're not just for single people you know.

Contraception doesn't always work.

For instance, my sister in law got pregnant the first time because a diet medication she was taking cancelled out the effect of her birth control pills. (This diet medication was later pulled from the market by the FDA).

God, you really are ignorant of how lady parts work, aren't you?
True that, contraception doesn't always work, and it's a sad fact that many women use abortion as their main method of birth control.....And it's quite obvious that many women are ignorant of how their own bodies work.....And then are those that understand full well how their bodies work, yet they won't step up and take responsibility for their actions when their bodies produce human life. Nope, it's much easier to kill the inconvient lil' bastards, then it is to step up and do the right thing, and take resposibilty for their actions.

I do not believe women use abortion as birth control.

When all human beings become human beings --- when they get a soul. People who have no souls are inhumane...

True! While we have always had dishonest politicians, insincere religious figures and all the rest, we might have fewer of them. After all, there weren't many insincere religious figures when the penalty was to be tarred, feathered and run out of town. Consequences has largely been removed from the entirety of our culture. Everyone is a victim. This is a much larger subject. But, when the avaricious was strung up by the neck in the town square, there weren't that many.

Women who get pregnant and the men who impregnate them are not VICTIMS, they shouldn't be treated as if they had nothing to do with the pregnancy.

We also kill animals and eat them. Humans are generally treated better than animals.

They should be treated as if they made a mistake, you are a barbarian, perhaps you would be satisfied in a less civilized environment.
