Amazon was being exempted from $3 billion of taxes as part of the deal. Minimum wage workers would not be able to make that up. Imbecile.

Amazon pays pretty well....I have a friend that went to work for them...he started at 32,000 a year with full benefits...now he makes nearly 150,000 per year...
The minimum wage workers for Amazon are seasonal employees...most of them are semi retired folks....but even they get top quality health insurance and paid holidays and sick pay...and after the busy season is over they get a sizable bonus....This is NY's loss....
