Americans Begging The Government To Take Their Rights

Please take away my rights To life and liberty ! Who doesn’t want to be shot to death by some AR wielding psycho!

It’s so weird how Cons obsesss on the 2nd, and then wipe their ass with the rest of the constitution.

Better yet, who wants to be defenseless when one shows up? You freaks are asking the same government that failed in FL to save you, REALLY?

But guns aren't the point of this thread, it's about Americans begging the government to take away their rights for some false sense of security.

.

Replace “ guns” with “voting” and watch you righties pull a 180 on giving away rights .

Or really name any other right and y’all are for all kinds of limitations. You name if.

Oh, and gov failed in Florida because they didn’t have the laws to help them . Unlike in gun control states .

I'm not going deep into this but what are the constitutional requirements for voting?

Also FL and the FBI had adequate laws at their disposal to prevent Cruz from passing a background check, both dropped the ball.

.

Did our founding fathers have to show special state issued picture ID in order to vote ?

No, their neighbors knew who they were. If they had lived in a nation of hundreds of millions of people, with scads of people flooding across the border all the time, they would have, though.

Are you saying that times change and we should keep up with those changes ?

For example , “arms” becoming far more deadly than the founders could imagine ?

I watched as events unfolded today and couldn't believe my eyes, there were 10s of thousands of Americans begging the government to take their constitutional rights from them. I can't think of a thing that would be more un-American.

Literally millions have laid their lives on the line to protect the rights these people just want to piss away. What the hell are they teaching in the government halls of indoctrination as a pretense for education? It damn sure isn't American values.

Your thoughts.

The right to life is stronger.

And that is why we have the 2nd Amendment, moron. Americans use their guns on average 1,500,000 times a year to stop violent criminal attack and often mass shootings...saving more lives with their guns than criminals take with their guns...there is no comparison...

Good guys with guns in this country save more lives than bad guys with guns take.....that is a fact, the truth and the reality.

If you take guns away from good guys, all you will have are more rape victims, more murder victims and more victims of violent crime. Britain banned and confiscated guns...their gun crime rate keeps going up and their violent crime rate is higher than ours.

Countries with strong gun control have lower homicide rates and no mass shooting problem. Stop being ridiculous.

Has nothing to do with their gun control since criminals get guns easily.....culture and values determine the murder rate....

If the Founders knew that after 1917, socialist governments around the world would murder close to 200 million innocent men, women and children, they wouldn't have simply put the 2nd Amendment in to remind people we have the Right to keep and bear arms...they would have mandated that every home have multiple guns......

It was government they were afraid of, not the people owning guns.....

How many killed in Vegas? That tx church? Newtown? Orlando? Lot of dead.

A drop in the bucket compared to the number killed by medical mistakes. People die at the hands of gunmen but it's statistically small compared to other causes of death. Regressives only what to concentrate on guns rather than the larger problems.

.

Problem can and should be fixed.

Mass shootings are not a problem in countries with strong gun control.

Wrong...France has extreme gun control and their criminals get fully automatic rifles easily...

Terrorists in France get fully automatic military rifles easily, even when they are on government, terrorist watch lists.....Britain, missed 2 mass shootings due to dumb luck, and a guy walked into a nursery with a gun ...he just didn't murder the children.....

You have no idea what you are talking about.

British teen sentenced to life for planned school attack

Despite some of the tightest gun control on the planet, a British man was able to acquire a handgun, extended mags and explosives as part of a plot to attack his former school.

Liam Lyburd, 19, of Newcastle upon Tyne, was sentenced to life imprisonment this week on eight charges of possessing weapons with intent to endanger life.

As noted by the BBC, Lyburd gathered a cache that included a Glock 19, three 33-round magazines, 94 hollow-point bullets, CS gas, five pipe bombs and two other improvised explosive devices despite the country’s long history of civilian arms control.

According to court documents, Lyburd planned to use the weapons in an attack on Newcastle College, from which he had been expelled two years prior for poor attendance. He was arrested last November after two Northumbria Police constables visited him at his home on a tip from an individual who encountered threats and disturbing pictures posted by Lyburd online.

Despite a defense that portrayed the reclusive man as living in a fantasy world, Lyburd was found guilty in July.

The internet-savvy teen obtained the Glock and other items through Evolution Marketplace, a successor to the Silk Road, a long-time “dark web” site in which users could buy and sell everything from illegal narcotics to munitions using Bitcoin cryptocurrency.

In court, Lyburd testified that buying the Glock was so easy it was “like buying a bar of chocolate.”

He obtained funds for his purchases through a complex extortion scheme in which he used online malware to infect computers, which he in turn held for ransom from their owners.

'Gunman' walks into Liverpool nursery school as children were playing inside

Police have sealed off a children's nursery in Liverpool amid reports a gunman walked into the building while youngsters were inside.

Officers were called to Childs Play Nursery in Wavertree, Merseyside, at around 8am this morning.

The man, who is believed to have been carrying what looked like a firearm, walked into the nursery and approached another man.

He then left with a second man on the back of a motorbike.

Paris attacks highlight France's gun control problems

But in recent years a black market has proliferated. The number of illegal weapons has risen at a rapid rate – double-digit percentages – for several years, according to the National Observatory for Delinquency, a body created in 2003.

“In Marseille and the surrounding area almost all the score settling is carried out using weapons used in wars,” a police spokesman told Reuters after the Toulouse attacks, adding that Kalashnikovs were the weapon of choice: “If you don’t have a ‘Kalash’ you’re a bit of a loser.”

============================
Paris attacks highlight France's gun control problems

The arsenal of weapons deployed by the eight attackers who terrorised Paris on Friday night underlined France’s gun control problems and raised the spectre of further attacks.

The country has extremely strict weapons laws, but Europe’s open borders and growing trade in illegal weapons means assault rifles are relatively easy to come by on the black market.

-------------=================

France’s real gun problem

Despite these strict laws, France seems to be awash with guns. The guns used in high-profile terror attacks are really just the tip of the iceberg. In 2012, French authorities estimated that there were around 30,000 guns illegally in the country, many likely used by gangs for criminal activities. Of those guns, around 4,000 were likely to be "war weapons," Le Figaro reported, referring to items such as the Kalashnikov AK-variant rifles and Uzis. Statistics from the National Observatory for Delinquency, a government body created in 2003, suggest that the number of guns in France has grown by double digits every year.
----------------------
How Europe's Terrorists Get Their Guns

France became particularly worried about the trafficking of illegal guns in 2012, increasing fines and jail terms for those involved in the trafficking and possession of them. Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said in Septemberthat police have seized nearly 6,000 weapons from criminal groups each year since 2013, 1,200 of which were military assault weapons. And in the three weeks following the Nov. 13 attacks, Cazeneuve said French police seized 334 weapons, 34 of them military-grade.

Five things to know about guns in France

4. Millions of illegal weapons
France is awash with illegal weapons, with some experts saying that the number of illegal guns may be twice the number of legal ones.
Weapons such as Kalashnikovs, many of which were originally used in the Balkan wars in the 1990s, can be bought for less than 3,000 euros on the black market.
Kalashnikovs are the weapon of choice in deadly score-settling between rival drug gangs in the southern port city of Marseille.
The assault rifles were also the main weapon used in the radical Islamist terror attacks in France in recent years.
The worst single mass shooting took place in the Bataclan concert hall in Paris in November 2015, when gunmen sprayed concert-goers with bullets, killing 89 of them. Dozens more were killed in other attacks the same night in the French capital.

You heard that right: Countries such as France may have made all semi-automatic guns illegal, but that hasn’t stopped killers from getting fully automatic machine guns to use in mass shooting attacks.
All four of the 2015 mass public shooting in France involved machine guns, including the 130 people killed in November of that year in multiple attacks including one at a concert venue.

Hundreds of guns, grenades, ammo seized from French sports shop owner

Hundreds of assault rifles, shotguns, and pistols, along with hand grenades and 100 kilos of ammunition, have been confiscated from a sports shop owner in the northern French port town of Boulogne-sur-Mer.

In total, 488 guns, 13 grenades, 1,309 weapons parts, and more than 100 kilos of cartridges and ammunition were seized, customs officials said in a statement.

1. You need to be 21 to buy a AR-15.
2. Local police chief issue a gun license, needed to buy firearms. The local PD would be aware of all the calls to the home , and they would’ve denied him the license .

Pretty sensible stuff . While true law abiding people are able to get their arms .

One of the reason why Churches don't pay taxes is because they can't campaign for politicians.
.....

You have that backwards. They cannot campaign for politicians because they do not pay taxes, not the other way around.

Churches not being taxed is the biggest scam in the nation right now.

wow taxing charities is really cold-hearted and greedy

No, I am talking about taxing churches, they are social clubs, not charities. Most churches spend less than 10% of their “income” on actual charitable work

Sent from my iPhone using USMessageBoard.com

They are non-profits, and they very carefully comply with all the IRS regulations to maintain that status. What YOU think of what they do and why is irrelevant. Furthermore, I want to see your evidence for your alleged "10%" statistic, or I will consider the lack of said evidence to be an admission that you're a lying sack of shit.

Put up or shut up, bigot.

How Churches Spend their Money

You realize that doesn't actually prove your premise, right? All you've actually proved is that you're incredibly biased, and will automatically project an aura of rock-solid gospel (you should excuse the expression) truth onto anything that repeats what you want to believe, or appears to.

Let's investigate your chatty little pamphlet, shall we? First off, it's a blurb from a conference of Methodist Churches, quoting a survey conducted by Christianity Today. Neither is exactly an in-depth, scholarly source on the subject. The Methodist Conference could probably speak relatively knowledgeably about how Methodist Churches spend their money, but they have no real reason to investigate the subject in regards to other denominations and faiths.

Second, Christianity Today's survey request was only responded to by 2,200 churches. In case you were unaware, there are something like 450,000 official churches in the United States, the majority of which would have little to no interest in Christianity Today, which is strictly an evangelical Christian magazine. I think we should be able to agree that 2,200 voluntary responses from one subset isn't much of a realistic sampling of the behaviors of 450,000 widely-varying organizations.

Meanwhile, as I have pointed out many times, the Catholic Church (for example) is MUCH larger and more diverse AND more established than the Methodist Church has ever dreamed of being, and they run about half of all charities in any city you care to name. The federal government refers people to them for assistance when they (the government) can't help them.

And finally, let me point out that there are any number of charities and non-profits who are known for spending the majority of their donations on administration needs like buildings, staff salaries, etc. I don't hear you suggesting that THEY should be viewed as "fraudulent charities" or lose THEIR non-profit status.

So we're back to where we started. You're a bigot.

Can't imagine what your first paragraph has to do with the painfully-evident fact that you misunderstand and hate religion.

It shows that i have been more deeply involved with it than you could ever dream of being yet you accuse or of hate. Typical statist, anyone that does not think exactly like you has to be filled with hate.

All it shows me is that you've spent a lot of time rationalizing your bigotry to yourself.

I don't give a rat's furry fat ass what you "personally think" churches should do, and I'm sure they don't, either. Only a leftist would think "showing independence" by giving money to the government that could otherwise go to charitable work is a logical decision.

To maintain tax exempt status churches have all sorts of hoops to jump through and all sorts of things they are not allowed to do. Remove that status and churches will be free from government control. But as a statist you clearly want to keep religions under the control of the government.

Oh, yeah, because taxpaying businesses are SOOOO much freer of government interference than churches are. As a religiophobe, you clearly will stoop to anything to bludgeon churches out of existence.
