Annapolis Council To Consider Stripping Republican Mayor-Elect’s Power

Cruz didn't do anything that hasn't been done before. He just didn't make up the rule.

Bad analogy. Keep trying.

Republicans toss around fascism, communism and every other "ism" on the planet. Sorry - I stand by it ... this time it is actually being used correctly.
Ummm...no, it's not. It's being used emotionally and inaccurately.

fas·cism noun \ˈfa-ˌshi-zəm also ˈfa-ˌsi-\
: a way of organizing a society in which a government ruled by a dictator controls the lives of the people and in which people are not allowed to disagree with the government

: very harsh control or authority

Which part of that applies to Cruz? Take your time.

Sounds despicable ... why is this Ok with the Annapolis?

The tea party used very dirty tricks to get what they wanted. Not saying that what they did was against the law, just that fascism often uses these types of forced "negotiations" that involve disrupting government as a means to an end.

A bunch of other stuff too, but it's getting pretty boring going over and over the same crap.

Thought this thread was about the mayor of Annapolis?

It was...then you brought up the TEA Party.

Meanwhile, perhaps you could list all the things the TEA Party wanted that the shutdown got them.

Or you could just admit your use of the term fascism does not apply.

Voters chose to send a Republican to the mayor's office in Annapolis for the first time in 20 years so in response the all Democratic city council is deciding to consider legislation stripping the mayor of his most his power by moving to a council-manager style of government where a city manager would report the council and the mayor would mostly be a figurehead.

So they can't handle the people's choice so they go and change the rules. Bear in mind these are the same people who told butt hurt Romney voters a few months ago that the people have spoken and to stop whining about the election results. It's more than clear the Annapolis City Council is institutionally corrupt.

This is the form of city government that we have. It works well. Elections for Mayor and City Council are a-political btw. No parties, just good management. We're a smaller city and predominantly conservative.

The people should take a lesson from Colorado and have a recall election for the City council.

Democrats sure are sore losers.

You understand that all bills raising revenue must originate in the House, right?
Oh yeah. You don't understand shit.

What are you saying, here? That Cruz didn't try to filibuster the budget? That the Tea Party wasn't attempting to defund Obamacare?

Ted Cruz votes in the house ... is it someone else's duty to vote on the budget?

Do you even know what Fascism is? So what if Cruz filibustered and the House has symbolically tried to defund the PPACA? How is any of that Fascist?

I'd also like to hear more about Ted Cruz voting in the House.

c'mon. he is a leftard. he will defend this fascist law ( and that is what this law is - fascist) even if that come to bite him in the rear.

What kind of nutbar post is this?

Since when did the tea party become an officially recognized party?

Is there something I missed? What lunacy is this?

Exactly... it's so divorced from reality it is almost funny. In what alternate reality do these leftist moonbats reside?
