Another home invasion caught on video...good thing she didn't have a gun...right?

I have been fine without carrying.

Good for you......hundreds of thousands each year are not so lucky as you or are fine without carrying....they lost the crime lottery...and were attacked by violent criminals.....

And most of those are involved in criminal activity. Don't do illegal things and you are very safe.

No brain, that is one of your anti gunner lies......over 90 milion homes have guns, over 11.1 people carry legally and of the 2 million times guns are used each year for self defense, they are used by law abiding people to stop actual criminals........

And yes...don't get involved in drugs or crime and you are very safe......

No you have said most are crime is thug on thug.

11 gun studies say it is less than 2million. Most defenses are by people involved in criminal activity.

That is a lie that you keep spewing brain.....the average of gun studies focused on non law enforcement, non military self defense use of guns comes out to 2 milion times a year....and most defenses are not people involved in criminal activity...that is something you made up because it sounds good for grabbing guns.....

11 of your 15 studies say it is less. A huge majority of them. Post them and prove me right.

Yes likely.......Women are not trained killers

The woman would have fumbled with her gun, got off an errrant shot and the intruders would have pulled their weapons and filled her full of bullets

Another victory for second amendment rights

Since you have no clue what you are talking about you should simply remain quiet...and do some research into actual self defense shootings...what you say is not true...I post all the time with stories that show that normal, law abiding, untrained or minimally trained people fight off and survive against violent criminals. The criminals are alone or attack in groups and the victim still fights them off....often without firing a shot...often having been ambushed or surprised...

So do some actual research into self defense shootings....then you would actually have a fucking clue.....

Your posts are based on pure conjecture about what MAY have happened if the victim had a gun

I merely reply with conjecture on what would more likely happen if guns had entered the equation

actually, it isn't more likely...for example, studies show that a victim with a gun is the most effective way to stop rape.......above any other measure to stop the rape...guns also have been shown to reduce the risk of injury to the defender during an attack....all from studies on the subject...

Not likely.....since in most cases criminals run away from armed victims.......even when they begin the encounter with a surprise attack...just like the store clerk who had the gun to the back of his head, turned around and shot the criminal........

1) criminals don't want to get shot...it hurts...

2) if they are shot and injured it makes it more likely they will spend time in jail

most criminals run away as soon as the victim produces a gun....

Like the old lady who was being robbed, pulled a gun out of her purse and the robber put his hands in his pockets and walked away......

I never said it would have been prevented, I said she likely could have stopped the robbery, and had more control over the outcome......instead of relying on the good will of home invaders and pure dumb luck.......and we also know that when criminals have guns and victims do not, victims are often raped, beaten, robbed and murdered......while victims with guns often drive off violent criminals and save lives....

Maybe...maybe not

I say, a woman in that situation who attempts to draw a gun is more likely to escallate a robbery into a shootout

Considering the NCVS is not a gun study and can't even get accurate statisitics on rape and sexual assault....one of the things it actually studies....the fact that you cling to it shows how silly you are.....

the gun studies that focus on self defense by law abiding citizens, non military and non police, show that Americans use guns on average 2 million times a year to stop or prevent violent criminal attack and save lives.....

And those studies 11 studies that you mention.....none of them shows the number of defensive gun uses at less than 760,000 on average each year......

Single instances where guns worked does not provide proof

You say the situation in the OP would have been prevented if guns were present
I say guns would more likely lead to death

What we do know is that no guns were present and nobody was killed

it isn't single instances...on average it is 2 million times a year that guns are used to stop or prevent violent criminal attack and save lives...that is a lot more than "single instances."

11 gun studies say it is less. The more accurate ncvs study says 108k.

The vast majority of gun studies say it is less than 2 million. You are wrong.

Your conjecture is wrong.......

Hmm...what fool thanked that stupidity.......we all know when victims don't have guns and wind up raped and murdered and left in shallow graves, or on the floor of convenience stores bleeding out......or stabbed or beaten to death......

We also know of situations where victims do have guns and the situation escallates into a shootout with either the victim, the robber or both ending up shot

And pulling a gun on an armed criminal makes them more likely to shoot.

Wrong. Drawing a weapon makes them more likely to run. Criminals carry guns for the fear factor, not because they want to get into an ok-corral shootout with the person they are robbing.

Not always. Many defenders are shot.

Any many more are not.

Seat belts have resulted in many deaths in car accidents. So just because in not EVERY instance a seat belt saves the persons life its not advisable to wear one?

Again you respond with single instances

We have 32,000 instances a year where a gun in the equation results in death

How many of those 32000 instances are suicide? Answer: 21,175

Suicides are just as dead and guns are used in two thirds of our suicides
Putting a gun in the hands of a depressed person does not result in a happy ending

Yes it does.

You are not defining happy ending correctly.

In other countries a depressed person can ask the doctor for medication to kill them. This is known as mercy. Who would you deny such mercy to?

Store clerk fights back

The clerk was undeterred by the masked assailant he spotted in his store’s surveillance camera. Grabbing his own gun, the 37-year-old met him outside, and the two fired shots at each other.

“It’s like the old West again,” a detective said.

Police made the shooting on the 1000 block of Culebra Road minutes later, at around 10 p.m.

The clerk was shot in the leg and taken to an unknown hospital in good condition.

The assailant, however, fled. Police don’t have a good description of his get-away car. But some vindication remained from the ordeal: He also left penniless.

Montgomery County — A 70-year-old woman was shot and seriously injured by her own gun during a struggle with an intruder Sunday night.

Store Clerk Accidentally Shoots Himself

A store clerk accidentally shot himself Friday during an armed robbery in Dallas, police said.

The two robbers fired at the clerk and missed him, but when he fired back with his own gun, he shot himself in the finger.

The thieves were able to escape the scene with stolen cash.
