Are You Better or Worse (Economically) Now Than YOU Were 3 Years Ago ?

I said it was "renter friendly", and it is. Involving security deposits$$, fees$$, "terms & conditions" (which can include rent), "responsibilities of landlords", notice requirements.
Buy your own place and you won’t have to deal with all that crap anymore.

Here is a real question. What exactly do you think Donald Trump is going to do for your rent or social security payments?
I dont know what he will do, and probably neither does anybody else. But I know that when he was president, my rent increased $25 each year ($75 over 3 years}.

After Biden took over, that rent increased $1000 over 3 years (13.3 times as much as when trump was president. The rnt went from $600/mo to $1600/mo in 3 years.

Gas, utilities, & food prices have also skyrocketed. When Trump left office gas was $1.89/gal in my local convenience store gas station. Now it's about TWICE that.

As for Social Security, I would trust Trump 1000 times more than I would trust the conniving, corrupt Biden.

I lease beach houses in Florida for vacations. Your area has always been significantly higher priced and more prone to Hurricane destruction and flooding than the Forgotten Coast, although I have been stranded on Cape San Blas when a hurricane was 60 miles off the coast and the wave cut the cape off from the mainland.

If you have a successful art business over the internet, I doubt you are suffering too bad. I hope you adjust, as I do not see it changing, only slowing more the speed of increase, as inflation rate peaked two years ago.
It WAS successful before landlords wet wild, rents skyrocketed, and so did gas & food prices. Now businesses selling non-necessities are feeling th impact, big time.

So you don’t know how Trump will make it better you just know he will? You’ll have to teach me that knowledge trick.

45. the Navy hospital ships sent to New York,
46. the stimulus checks,

Just compare your 2021 net income vs expenses, with your 2024 net income vs expenses.

There could be a variety of answers to this, but I'm guessing a lot of people will say that they are worse off now, because their incomes haven't risen too much, but their living costs have gone up enormously. Purchasing power has decreased significantly for a lot of folks. 😐
Much better now. Economy was in the shitter post COVID… making a nice recovery except for cost of goods

Didn't we get a $1400 stimulus check in the mail 3 years ago from Biden?

I'm certain there are many folks renting, in the same shape as you... Because you not only face rising food costs, but also the rising rents...and if you are in or close to retirement then there is little you can do to improve your income situation other than maybe getting a part time job, to supplement.

Have you thought of moving to a state with cheaper rents?
