Arpaio GUILTY of targeting Latinos

501(c)s aren't supposed to be political, or at least mainly political. Yet all these Tea Party groups were filing as 501(c)s. Also, prior to the Tea Party, groups that claimed that it was unconstitutional for the government to collect income taxes, the 16th Amendment was illegally passed, etc., that filed as tax-exempt non-profits often used the name "Patriots" in their title. It's not a stretch that they might also use the term "Tea Party," and many Tea Party groups also used the word "Patriots" in their title.

See how easy it is to rationalize government power? Just like you're doing for Latinos. When the broad and discriminatory application of government power happens to others, people rationalize it away. But when the broad and discriminatory application of government power happens to you, those same people - unsurprisingly - protest it as being unjust and unfair.

Pretty funny how you talk about rationalizing Media Matters has tax exempt status yet they are clearly political and liberal when there was talk of pulling their tax exempt status the left would hear none of it they had no problem with political groups be given tax exempt status as long as they were liberal. Wanting the federal government to secure the border and enforce the nations immigration laws or to let the states do it if they are unwilling to is not rationalizing it is a reasonable expectation of government to consider that being unfair or profiling is truly off the charts.

Let me make this really clear.

Profiling conservative groups is wrong.

Profiling Mexicans is wrong.

If one is OK with one but not the other, one is a hypocrite.

I hope that clears things up.

how about Canadians?....Ey.....:eusa_angel:.....

No, it's ok for a Republican Sheriff to target illegals and send them back..Since they are not legal in the first place, they can't vote.

The problem is that they are harassing legal Hispanics in droves, hence the class action suit.

That's because white Americans aren't the ones sneaking across the border. If you want fairness, take a plane ride anywhere in the US. There you will see TSA agents targeting old white Americans because they don't want to be seen as profilers, all the while letting the guy with the turban pass through security unchallenged.

Muslims don't wear Turbins.....

Sanford lied his ass off. They never convicted clinton for obstruction of justice.

Sanford also misappropriated state funds and tried to lie his way out of it.

Ask his ex wife.

At least Clinton did not divorce his wife.

Bullshit. Clinton was DISBARRED for obstruction of justice! His and Hillary's marriage has been a sham for about twenty years.

So what, he's rich enough not to be a lawyer. Everyone hates lawyers anyway.

How do you know about his marriage? Have you been hiding under their bed?:eusa_hand:
from what i understand you would not see or hear anything......just sayin...

Talk to ANY cop off the record and they racially profile as a NECESSITY, because it's efficient and SUCCESSFUL.

I have a cop-friend who works in Maywood area of the city. He racial profiles WHITES. If a white boy regardless of car is in the area, they are immediately pulled over and searched for drugs. 10 out of 10 times they find drugs!

I have other cop friends that see the white boy with a long hair and beard, bam pull them over, because their is drugs in the car.

The biggest leftist hinderance on law enforcement is that cops SHOULDN'T racially profile, yet it's the most effective and NECESSARY way to fight crime!

Wow that's great! Pull anyone who looks like they may be guilty over and search their car, you are bound to find something. After all it is a necessity because cops can't do their job with stupid probable cause getting in their way. Oh wait...probable cause now is looking a certain way or being in a certain place. Awesome, that's the American way! Like you say, 10 out of 10 times who they target is guilty, they have never pulled over someone who isn't. No brainer, anyone who looks like they may be guilty shall be searched! The police always know who is guilty, they shouldn't be bound by stupid legalities. Free reign for the police and our crime problems are solved! No rights for the guilty looking ones. :cuckoo: The land of the free!

So, how bad must it get before we start enforcing out immigration law? You know, if our government would actually do it's job, maybe the states wouldn't have to resort to such extreme measures to enforce the law.

And regardless the situation with regard to the issue of undocumented immigrants, it’s not justification for a given jurisdiction to violate the law, the civil liberties of other persons, and the Constitution.

why are conservatives targeting people? WHY?!!!

The question should be, "why are all illegals NOT aggressively targeted by our government?" The next question should be, "why is our government targeting law abiding groups, like the Tea Party"?

Any one with half a brain knows the answers...

Except..they are not law abiding.

That's not exactly their fault either. The IRS has been breaking the law for 50 years buy allowing mostly political groups to form 501c s.

That..hopefully will get rectified.

I agree with that. The IRS went way beyond it's bounds and possibly broke the law in it's method of targeting and investigating.. Again, why don't we put those efforts in targeting illegals?

Arpaio racially profiled Latinos...well DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Considering that Mexicans make up (according to 2010 numbers) 58% of illegals and other Latin American countries make up (again, 2010 numbers) 23%, thus giving us 81% of all illegals are Hispanic. So it would make sense one would profile Hispanics as potentially being in the United States illegally.

FYI: These numbers come from the Pew Hispanic Center:

Pew hasn’t done a deep data dive on the 2011 data, but its in-depth analysis of 2010 numbers showed that Mexicans made up 58 percent of the undocumented population. Individuals from other Latin American nations account for another 23 percent, and Asians for 11 percent.

At least you admit your guilt, however unwittingly.

What FDR did with the Japanese Americans is universally condemned, by both parties, and by all political persuasions. NOBODY is claiming that it was justified, or that it should set a precedent for today. The concentration camps for these people remains a stain on America, and I have never met anyone who defends it.

Funny, though, there was a Republican candidate running for Congress who thought that all illegals needed to be rounded up and put in internment camps. So, they are criticizing FDR but it seems like some Republicans like the idea!

In an interview with Salon today, a Republican candidate for the Florida state Legislature stood by her controversial idea to arrest illegal immigrants and send them to “camps” where they can be held en masse.

“We can ship them out to the middle of the country and put up high walls and leave them there,” said Marg Baker, the middle-aged real estate broker vying for the Republican nomination in the state’s 48th district, north of Tampa.

Can't think past your own liberal worldview to see how corrupt this government is. And you accuse ME of being partisan? The fact that I see otherwise was because I got my head out of the clouds, apparently unlike you.

Obama has done no such thing.

Yes, really.

In a bid to remake the enforcement of federal immigration laws, the Obama administration is deporting record numbers of illegal immigrants and auditing hundreds of businesses that blithely hire undocumented workers.
Deportation of illegal immigrants increases under Obama administration

You need to read the articles you link. The non-deportation policy applies only to nyoung people that were brought here as babies and have lived here all their life.

Last week, the Homeland Security Department began taking applications from those no older than 30 who came to the U.S. as children and who have kept at least fairly clean criminal records. They are being granted “deferred action,” which is an official notice that they are not to be deported and will be granted work permits to stay and get jobs legally in the U.S.
Matt Chandler, a spokesman for the department, said the administration thinks it is right to target deportation efforts on those with major criminal records or other priority categories. He also said more than 90 percent of those whom ICE deports meet those criteria.
“The secretary’s memo on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals is a continuation of the department’s focus on these priorities, and ensures that responsible young people, who are Americans in every way but on paper, have an opportunity to remain in the country and make their fullest contribution,” he said.

Napolitano denied that agents were being told not to arrest fugitives and deportees who had re-entered the country.

The order is not a final ruling. Judge O'Connor said he still needs more information from both the administration and the immigration agents about whether the agents had another avenue to protest the policy rather than to go to court.

Republican/conservatives are so dishonest. Why don't you post the whole truth? They should be ashamed of themselves for making accusations they know are not true.

It's partially true. Immigration and Customs Enforcement under the Obama administration does count those removals in its total deportation figures. The problem with the claim, though, is that the policy isn't really an Obama-era conspiracy -- it's just the way deportation numbers have been tabulated for years.

The George W. Bush administration also counted immigrants caught at the border, in both general enforcement and as part of a program started in 2008 called the Alien Transfer Exit Program, the program with which the committee takes issue. Bush also deported fewer people per year -- far fewer in some years -- than the current administration.

Well, obviously you don't have your head out of the clouds - you may have it somewhere else, because your links/articles are all nothing but BS.

You do realize that a lot of illegals turn themselves in so they can get a free ride home when the job market goes to crap, right?

So let me get this straight.

Conservatives get mad when the government singles them out for targeting (IRS-gate) but aren't upset when the government singles others out for targeting (Latinos/immigration).

Amirite?

Do we have a large influx of illegal conservatives in the country or trying to illegally cross the border? There is more than a minor difference between that and being targeted for extra attention by the I.R.S. for what seems to be purely political reasons while applying for tax exempt status.

The Tea Party groups are legal American citizens, most born here. Yet, look at those coming in from south of the border, who thumb their noses at our laws. They are criminals, and criminals need to be dealt with. Let's see you sneak over into Mexico and see how long you last as a free man.

Good idea, and while their rounding up the illegal Mexicans, take a look at all those would be terrorist Muslims. Employ the "Minority Report."

You don't need to sneak into Mexico. All you need to do is cross the border.

I did it hundreds of time in Brownsville, Texas on my way to Boy's Town in Mexico.
