The cops assaulted the visitors on Jan 6. A few broke windows. Those had to suffer punishment. That was totally illegal. The Capitol is not closed due to the Meeting in the House to tabulate the Electoral college and also the Congress of both parties can object to the voting results. It is very very common that Democrats protest this way in every election. Nobody could overthrow the election unless they came in with an army who was carrying arms sufficient to cause enormous gunfire and destruction. The fact is that the shot fired in the building was by a cop in plain clothes who did not bother warning the party murdered she would be shot at.

Chauvin got the book thrown at him over no shots, just a knee on a shoulder of a man who was talking about can't breathing but a lot sooner than you think due to misposting by some of the media. Fortunately Chauvin did not die in prison though Democrats wanted him to die in prison.
