What to do about lying media? They never got away with that before the 90s. What changed that can be rolled back and their feet held to the fire for publishing falsehoods?
PS: Politicians lying is expected. Sad but true.
The problem with the TRUMP coup was to many elected republicans refused to challenge the media narrative and push back on false stories. They all pushed for Session to recuse, allowed Comey to grandstand and dodge questions, praised Mueller for being honorable, and allowed Rosenstein to control the Mueller SC with no oversight.
The media was and continues to shape the narrative because republicans allow them to. I get that maybe when TRUMP first took office some may have been unsure of how he would govern, but after the first year they all should have had his back and defended him the same way they have done with past republican presidents.
They all knew the Russia investigation was a sham to discredit TRUMP. McCabe claiming the FBI believed TRUMP was a Russian spy should be alarming. It's one think for the FBI to believe Carter Page was a spy and get it wrong, but when the FBI launches an investigation on the belief the POTUS is a spy and gets it wrong someone needs to be held legally accountable.
So while it's easy to blame democrats and the media for their attacks against TRUMP at least those attacks should have been expected. What's shouldn't have been expected was for the overwhelming majority of elected republicans to join in on the attacks, or remain silent.
