Three minors have been euthanised in Belgium since euthanasia for children was legalised in 2014. According to the latest report from the government agency (PDF in French) which tracks euthanasia deaths, the children were 9, 11 and 17 years old. Two died in 2016 and 1 last year.

Well isn't that just special, so you see if you can kill the unborn it leads to making up whatever excuse feels good and up the age to kill a little more awwww leftard ways aren't they sweet?

Well i'm glad some think it's just ok to play God, or fate, or play Judge and Jury on ppls lives no matter what is wrong with them, allowing things to naturally occur is why we have chain and effects.

And yet, Belgium doesn't have a death penalty for convicted murderers?

Talk about mixed signals.

And the silly people who support abortion and euthanasia don't think it will one day be used for any reason they come up with to kill undesirables......

They'll get old too, and by then it'll be commonplace. Guess who's gonna regret being pro euthanasia.

The requirements of the law are that the patient be terminal (incurable) and suffering. They are not grabbing healthy kids off the street and murdering them.

If your child were dying, with no reasonable hope of changing that, and suffering, why would you want to prolong their agony when the end is inevitable?

It's not your place to make the decision to end somebody else's life. And children don't understand enough about life and death to make that decision for themselves. That's why we have legal consent laws for drinking, having sex, driving, voting, marriage, etc. That's the problem with liberals, they think they know better than you do about what's good for you or when life isn't worth living anymore. IT'S NOT THEIR DECISION TO MAKE.

The same argument is made for adults as well.

Exactly what is it that they need to know? They know they are going to die. They know there is nothing that can be done. And they know that they are suffering in agony. And their parents are involved and must agree. So it is not just the child, but the person who loves them more than anyone else.

And liberals are not making the decision for them. They are allowing them, along with their parents, to make the decision.

Thoughts and prayers

Its funny, Belgium allows the assisted suicide of 3 children in 4 years and you'd think they were lining them up for the ovens.

But the same people who complain about this, complain if someone suggests using tax dollars to treat a child and save their life.

True, but this thread is about children.

A 9 year old doesn't even know what death is, and you know as well a I that the child is going to trust the parent and do what they suggest. As for suffering in agony, you don't know that to always be the case. Besides, this is not the 5th century, we have drugs for pain now. Didn't you hear about that?

And liberals are not making the decision for them. They are allowing them, along with their parents, to make the decision.
I was referring to the parents as well. It's always liberals who push this shit. At what point does "voluntarily" become "mandatory"? How long will it be before it becomes mandatory to end someone's life regardless of what they want? Terminal illness? Not enough insurance? A burden on society? What if the parents don't want to go along with it? Too bad? Liberals aren't content to apply their beliefs just to themselves, they have to force everyone else to go along with them.
You can make it sound as noble and/or compassionate as you want but the bottom line is that someone's life is being terminated. It's one thing if a rational adult makes the decision for him or herself but just as it was predicted, now it's evolving into OTHER people making or influencing the decision.

So, what is the magic number? How many have to be terminated before we should become concerned?

But the same people who complain about this, complain if someone suggests using tax dollars to treat a child and save their life.
That's bullshit.

Yes, we have pain meds. But those do not always work on the pain for some cancers. So the patient still suffers from the pain, but is in a stupor for the remainder of their "life".

And this is not becoming mandatory. Why not wait until that comes up and fight it? Because right now you are fighting to keep people, even young people, in agony to prevent something that has not happened. Let the doctors, parents and individuals decide. All of them have a say in the Belgium system.

You don't know what's going on in their mind, probably because you're not very spiritual and see things one dimensionally. You're a slave to the physical world and you should do a little research about NDAs and other experiences people have had when they were clinically dead or near death.

And this is not becoming mandatory.
Not yet.

It already has, and you would know that if you read some of the details of Obamacare.

Because right now you are fighting to keep people, even young people, in agony to prevent something that has not happened.
Stop exaggerating and twisting what I said. You have no real moral ground on which to stand.
