The power grid in this country is just barely able to handle the power consumption for the homes, businesses and factories we have now. We saw what happen in Texas during the cold spell when electric heat put a strain on the grid.

Just think that everybody that has one of the faggotmobiles will need an additional 7KW to charge the damn things. Just think that if millions of people need that power because they were stupid enough to buy a faggotmobile.

We are talking a tremendous strain on the electric grid that is not here now.

In physics their ain't no such thing as a free lunch. They are transfering the energy they buy at the gas pump to needing that energy at the power generation station, plus the generation and distribution inefficiencies.

Actually you have it backwards. If you had any engineering skills you would know that problem with the power grid isn't there is too much demand during daytime, but that there isn't enough demand at night. By adding electric vehicle recharging (mostly at night) to the power grid, you would actually flatten out the daily spike/dip, that is the problem.

{Power companies address this problem with "peaking" generators, instead of being able to increase baseline generating capacity.

Range drops off VERY quickly with any cargo.
Same with use of heater, wipers, headlights, AC, hills, or anything else.
What you have to remember is batteries are very heavy, very slow charge/discharge, and very expensive to replace if you ruin them with quick-charges.
And the energy loss from generating, transmitting, storing, and extracting the energy from the batteries is a huge loss.
The actual amount of energy you have to produce is likely 10 time what you actually get to use at the wheel.
Far more polluting then ICE, especially if the ICE uses bio-fuel, like alcohol or palm oil in a diesel.

I don't know exactly what the loss fact from grid generation to storage loss factor. Looking it up on Google it seems like it can be anywhere from 10% loss to 30%. It is like around 10% when the batteries are new but then they deteriorate to 30% over time.

In other words it takes anywhere from 10-30% more energy to power EVs than if you used the fossil fuels directly.

That is a big Environmental hit right there. We have to generate substantial more energy to keep those EVs on the road. I wonder if the stupid Moon Bats thought about that?

Then you have the Environmental pollution burden of manufacturing, transportation and disposal, which is substantial.

Today's (still in early developemnt) electric cars get 100-130MPGe. No ICE car can match that efficiency, especially considering how fast EV's are.

Actually a hybrid car will return energy or recharge the battery when you put your foot on the break.

When you can go from empty to full charge in about the same amount of time it takes to fill a gas tank today, EV's will have completely arrived. Until then, these will be a novelty and won't replace gas engines. Seriously, who is going to invest in a work truck that takes hours to recharge when it's needed instead of a few minutes to put some gas in a tank? Now, if there's a way you could quickly and easily swap out battery packs at a filling station, that could do it, but these things are large, heavy and very expensive.
