Search warrants are done because they’re necessary. They’re not the kinds of things that you can put off for months and months. You have to do them when the evidence is fresh, otherwise you can’t even get a warrant.

Why would Russia bother with training someone who wasnt an intelligence specialist in the past how to be one? What logic does that follow? But lets assume they did, what insight would he have? Any information he has is decades old and that information was about Sys Admin stuff not intelligence collection or analysis done in the IC.
