Bill Taylor's opening statement- quid pro quo

Soliciting a foreign national to help with one's campaign

Asking for an investigation into missing US taxpayer funds is not helping a campaign, it is helping the US figure out where YOUR PARTY wasted/stole our money....
When the target of the investigation is running in the same election, yes, it's helping Trump's campaign.

But don't worry, boychik, you're a rightwingnut -- no one expects you to understand.

If a politician running for office makes them exempt form investigation, then you should let your commie brethren in DC know. Seems they didn't get the memo.

You do realize that the whistleblower's testimony was backed up when the call notes were released, right?

No it wasn't.

.
What part of the whistleblower testimony has not been?

Key allegations from the Ukraine whistleblower are true, despite what Trump says

Whistleblower complaint:
“I have received information from multiple U.S. Government officials that the President of the United States is using the power of his office to solicit interference from a foreign country in the 2020 U.S. election. This interference includes, among other things, pressuring a foreign country to investigate one of the President’s main domestic political rivals.”

What we know:
This core claim has been confirmed. Based on Trump’s public comments and the White House transcript of his call with Zelensky, it’s now clear that Trump used his position to pressure Ukraine to investigate Biden. If Zelensky bowed to this pressure, Ukraine would have been interfering in the 2020 election to help Trump win.

Whistleblower complaint:
“The President’s personal lawyer, Mr. Rudolph Giuliani, is a central figure in this effort. Attorney General Barr appears to be involved as well.”

What we know:
The whistleblower was spot-on about Giuliani, who has been transparent about his role and maintains he hasn’t done anything wrong. The whistleblower was less sure about Barr. Trump mentioned Barr on the Zelensky call, but the Justice Department said Barr didn’t learn about it for “several weeks” and that he never discussed Ukraine with Giuliani

Whistleblower complaint:
“According to the White House officials who had direct knowledge of the call, the President pressured Mr. Zelenskyy to … initiate or continue an investigation into the activities of former Vice President Joseph Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.”

What we know:
The White House transcript of the call revealed that this is accurate. Trump told Zelensky: “There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution, and a lot of people want to find out about that, so whatever you can do with the attorney general would be great.” In addition, after the complaint was publicly released, Trump publicly asked Ukraine to investigate the Biden family

Whistleblower complaint:
“According to the White House officials who had direct knowledge of the call, the President pressured Mr. Zelenskyy to … assist in purportedly uncovering that allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election originated in Ukraine, with a specific request that the Ukrainian leader locate and turn over servers used by the Democratic National Committee and examined by the US cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike.”

What we know:
The White House transcript of the call included Trump’s mention of CrowdStrike, which is at the center of a Trump-supported conspiracy theory about alleged Ukrainian meddling in 2016. Trump said: “I would like you to find out what happened with this whole situation with Ukraine, they say CrowdStrike … I guess you have one of your wealthy people … The server, they say Ukraine has it … I would like to have the attorney general call you or your people and I would like you to get to the bottom of it.”

And that is just a small sample.

Now you...

The WH transcript showed that Trump asked Selensky to cooperate with the AG 4 times. The Constitution gives the president free reign to conduct foreign policy and an obligation to enforce the law. Your commie fantasies notwithstanding, there was nothing improper about the call.

.
Dumbfuck cuck ... the president cannot violate one law to enforce another.

He didn't.

.
LOLOL

Yell it louder, moron, America doesn't hear you. 59% think Trump should be impeached for breaking the law you delude yourself into believing he didn't break.

:lmao:

Faun,

How many BOARD MEETINGS did Hunter Biden attend???

A: ZERO

How can one be on the BOARD if he never attends a MEETING?

A: he was a CONDUIT to a KICKBACK
Who cares? There's no law against over paying someone to do nothing simply because you want their name and associations on your board.

Thanks for proving the corrupt intent.

.
Still not a crime to hire the son of the VP.

Yep, right up to the point where daddy starts funneling tax dollars to the industry that hired his baby boy.

.

Who cares?

It is OFFICIAL.

Hunter Biden never attended a single board meeting. NOT ONE.

What does a BOARD MEMBER DO?

He/she ATTENDS BOARD MEETINGS

Hunter Biden was a "GHOST Board Member" who was really a CONDUIT for a KICKBACK.... No wonder the Dems don't want this INVESTIGATED....
Imbecile...

Again ... he was hired because his father was VP. If you can show Biden did something for them, then you have a case to build. But you don't even have that.

How about US aid to the Ukraine gas industry, would that count?

https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...99f42c-86dd-11e9-98c1-e945ae5db8fb_story.html

.
U.S. aid came from Congress and the president. Biden was just a messenger. But look at this gem I found in that article...

“Shokin was not investigating. He didn’t want to investigate Burisma,” said Daria Kaleniuk of the Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Action Center. “And Shokin was fired not because he wanted to do that investigation, but quite to the contrary, because he failed that investigation.”

And who was the point man on Ukraine that pushed for that aid? Can you say slow joe? Funny how his baby boy got that job just days before the aid was announced. Of course you're fee to pretend that was just a coincidence.

.

No it wasn't.

Hey, you're the one believing crazy partisan hacks, and their media lackeys, over career law enforcement. Did you ever notice how the media picks up the days talking points and parrot it as many as 20 times a day? That's called propaganda, not news, and you're swallowing it whole.

Seems they didn't get the memo.

.
No one ever said that but you rightards.

Really, this seems to be saying otherwise:
When the target of the investigation is running in the same election, yes, it's helping Trump's campaign.

Dumbfucking cuck... where in that sentence does it say Biden can't be investigated? That statement only says investigating Biden helps Trump's campaign. See how that works when you take statements out of context?

Yet all you commies are saying investigating Biden is a violation of US law. I don't recall any demands for an outcome, just a look at what he did and cooperation with the US AG.

Dumbfucking cuck... what is being said is trump violated U.S. law by soliciting a foreign national to investigate Biden. No one said Biden can't otherwise be investigated.

Are you always this stupid?

Actually he asked a new president of a country to aid the US in determining what happened in his country a few years ago. It's not like he hired a former British spy to look into the Bidens activities in Ukraine. Oh wait, that's what you commie do, right?

Exactly how did he do that, you already said the Bidens are not exempt form investigation. And we have a mutual assistance treaty with Ukraine on investigating possible criminal matters. So come on commie tell the class how he broke the law?

You obviously haven't read the treaty. Trump did not comply with it. It mandates he has to name the investigator looking into the matter and he didn't do that. And I've more than explained how Trump illegally solicited help to his campaign from a foreign national. I can't help you're too mentally handicapped to understand.

By abusing his power to withhold congressional ais dependent on political assistance. Duh,moron.

I recommend everyone read Bill Taylor's opening statement today.
Top US diplomat to Ukraine testifies there was a quid pro quo

I suggest reading the entire thing because there is great perspective in his statement.

While it confirms the quid pro quo that had been suspected- what is perhaps even more disturbing is his description of a shadow diplomacy being led by Rudy Giuliani- the President's private attorney- in leading America's diplomatic conversation with Ukraine.

I know that the Trump supporters will reflexively attack Bill Taylor.....but for anyone who thinks that they are objective- read his statement.

Read it.

To bad the quid pro quo that President Trump allegedly asked for is completely legal. He asked them to reopen their investigation on corruption against one of their own utility companies. The President can also withhold aid for whatever reason he wants.

Unlike Creepy Joe, who bribed them into dropping the investigation with $1 billion of our tax dollars, so his son wouldn’t get in trouble for receiving his bribe from Ukraine.

Trump has betrayed the Kurds, to Russia's benefit.

And he damn near betrayed the Ukraine for Russia's benefit. He put his own personal political desires ahead of an entire nation of people struggling to get out from under the post-Soviet whip.

How was it ever our benefit to be in Syria? The fight against ISIS is over. Let Syria go back to being an ally of Iran and Russia. If Russia can keep these savages in check, then by all means, let them. But little keyboard warriors like you want to keep using our troops to police the world.
