It has nothing to do with "prejudging" at all.
The point is that there is no proof that this event ever happened, and the Smollett case proves there is no penalty for getting caught in a hoax.
If you assume someone is lying before the facts are out, you are prejudging.

If the libs can prove this case beyond a reasonable doubt, it should definitely be investigated
