Trump has proposed ending birthright citizenship. Okay...more nations haven't got that policy than do have that policy. So it's not as though it couldn't be implemented. But how far do we want to go with this?

We have every right to enforce our illegal immigration laws. We cannot provide for everyone. OUR resources have their limits, and this is why we have rules and regulations to become a citizen of this country. There are also important steps that need to be taken when it comes to accepting immigrants, such as medical exams, at least a basic ability to read and write in English.

More illegal immigrants get killed on job sites because they cannot understand or follow directions or can't read warning signs, and I would imagine this to be especially true in certain industries, like construction. It's important that they are all speaking the same language on the job site which can be a dangerous place.

They also have to be able to follow the rules of the road when driving, be able to read and understand street signs, etc.

Voting or nonvoting illegals, what gets my goat most is that when pols want to redistrict, they want to count the illegals to determine the political lines they draw. I sort of get that seeing as jurisdictions can end up providing some services to the American born children of illegal aliens. IMO, redistricting should count the American children of illegal immigrants because for better or worse, like it or not, under current law, the kids are Americans. Do redistricting officials count just the kids or the adults and the kids? I don't know, and I haven't tried to find out.

But here's the thing. There're a ton of hijinks that can be played when drawing political district lines:
In light of that, I think it only appropriate that officials accept the good with the bad as goes illegals and when they can count and when they cannot. Having the cake and eating it too doesn't sit well with me.
  • If officials want to count the illegals for redistricting purposes, fine, but then I don't want to hear them griping when those people vote because ostensibly the main point of redistricting is to balance voters.
  • If officials have redistricted and counted illegals, and then the illegals get deported, are officials going to redraw the lines and when? Will they instead leave the district unbalanced numerically, thus electorally?

Only under certain circumstances. Under the Programa Frontera Sur, funded in large part by the US, a great many illegal border crossers are deported back to Central America. In fact, there seems to be something of a quota system in place regarding the number of illegals deported back to Guatemala. The pressure to deport 'enough' people there is such that more than a few Mexican citizens are being rounded up, roughed up, and 'deported' from their own country to one they couldn't even point out on a map.

Bull crap. "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" is completely clear. Illegal aliens are not subject to our jurisdiction. They are subject to the jurisdiction of the country they came from. You are just ignoring that condition
