You do realize the traffic congestion we have right now. Think thousands of those shipping containers that will be clogging our roads and freeways on a daily basis. Not sure what kind of upgrades during construction you are talking about.ok; here is my two-cents worth and i raise you another cent; why not advance the science of upgrading railroads in a manner analoguous to our inter-State freeway system that even handle traffic while under construction?
and this rail line has already been defeated a few years back at one of the elections, most people stating when they go to Vegas they would rather drive for various reasons so said train wasnt wanted...but here we are like it or not.....This high speed railway will be an expensive boondoggle which will dump American dollars into Chinese hand. And the taxpayers will be expected to subsidize it. And no one is going to use it, because most people have cars in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, and it will never be cheaper than a tankful of gas to get a train ticket.
that fucker made out on the selling of the Post Offices here in Cali too......Diane Feinstein's husband got a billion dollar contract to build high speed rail:

These projects are welfare for the rich and corrupt and well connected -- in other words, graft.

At least china will do it as congress has no interest in America's infrastructure
A unit of CCRC, China's largest train maker, has signed a deal to help build a high-speed bullet train railway linking Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
CRRC also last week broke ground on a factory in the U.S. that will manufacture trains for Boston's subway system as part of a $556 million deal that China CNR, now part of CRRC, won almost a year ago.

let's end the drug war to pay for it.At least china will do it as congress has no interest in America's infrastructure

the train aint wanted...just the way it is...and this rail line has already been defeated a few years back at one of the elections, most people stating when they go to Vegas they would rather drive for various reasons so said train wasnt wanted...but here we are like it or not.....This high speed railway will be an expensive boondoggle which will dump American dollars into Chinese hand. It's funded by Chinese which will take most of the profits. That's sad isn't it.
why not? in my opinion, we should be submitting rfp for Pareto Optimal solutions from academia and using socialism to leverage those research and development costs.let's end the drug war to pay for it.At least china will do it as congress has no interest in America's infrastructure

Oh goody! Railroads in America built with Chinese trains.
Anything to screw an American out of a job. Just like the new Chinese fabricated San Francisco Bay bridge that cost millions in over cost because of screwed up Chinese manufacturing.

Maybe if you read the LINK. It might enlightened you before making such comments.
This is the main reason and only reason this project came to light again because foreigners are investing. Not tax payers because that was block 2 years ago.
It will be American jobs not Chinese citizens working on this HSR. Chinese will be investing their money and will benefit most of the profit.

I know that. Americans will get the construction jobs. But the equipment will be made in China. We used to provide well paying jobs fabricating steel sections for bridges and other constructions. Now those people are working at lower paid jobs while that work is done overseas and imported.
The American worker is relegated to lower skilled lower paying jobs for the benefit of the owner class while our tax dollars are spent enriching foreign workers.
At least china will do it as congress has no interest in America's infrastructure
