Chomsky makes first Gaza visit

The mufti mean nothing yet again. Buts it's amazing that Roudy wants to discredit the whole conflict because a little leader allied with a country that wasn't against him.

The Role of Zionism in the Holocaust

From its' inception, many rabbis warned of the potential dangers of Zionism and openly declared that all Jews loyal to G-d should stay away from it like one would from fire. They made their opinions clear to their congregants and to the general public. Their message was that Zionism is a chauvinistic racist phenomenon which has absolutely naught to do with Judaism. They publicly expressed that Zionism would definitely be detrimental to the well being of Jews and Gentiles and that its effects on the Jewish religion would be nothing other than destructive. Further, it would taint the reputation of Jewry as a whole and would cause utter confusion in the Jewish and non-Jewish communities. Judaism is a religion. Judaism is not a race or a nationality. That was and still remains the consensus amongst the rabbis.

We were given the Holy Land by G-d in order to be able to study and practice the Torah without disturbance and to attain levels of holiness difficult to attain outside of the Holy Land. We abused the privilege and we were expelled. That is exactly what all Jews say in their prayers on every Jewish festival, "Umipnay chatoenu golinu mayartsaynu" - "Because of our sins we were expelled from our land".

We have been forsworn by G-d "not to enter the Holy Land as a body before the predestined time", "not to rebel against the nations", to be loyal citizens, not to do anything against the will of any nation or its honour, not to seek vengeance, discord, restitution or compensation; "not to leave exile ahead of time." On the contrary; we have to be humble and accept the yoke of exile. To violate the oaths would result in "your flesh will be made prey as the deer and the antelope in the forest," and the redemption will be delayed.

More Q and A with the world's smartest Jew:
(Question in Italics

"Do you ever doubt your own ideas?

"All the time. You should read what happens in linguistics. I keep changing what I said. Any person who is intellectually alive changes his ideas. If anyone at a university is teaching the same thing they were teaching five years ago, either the field is dead, or they haven't been thinking.

"But, unlike many reconstructed leftists, you have not changed your political views one iota since the 60's. For instance, you have remained a vocal critic of Israel.

"I objected to the founding of Israel as a Jewish state. I don't think a Jewish or Christian or Islamic state is a proper concept. I would object to the United States as a Christian state.

"Your father was a respected Hebraic scholar, and sometimes you sound like a self-hating Jew.

"It is a shame that critics of Israeli policies are seen as either anti-Semites or self-hating Jews. It's grotesque. If an Italian criticized Italian policies, would he be seen as a self-hating Italian?"

The Professorial Provocateur, Noam Chomsky interviewed by Deborah Solomon
A Jew not wanting a Jewish state? What does he want?

A socialist "utopia" with "intellectuals" like him behind the scenes running the show...He doesn't realize that if he walked around Gaza as a Jew without all the fanfare he'd be killed
Equality and freedom with all of the people running the show, instead of "the coercive authority of the state", unlike authoritarians like yourself and the Gipper.

BTW, Chomsky would last a lot longer in Gaza than Dick and Dubya would in Fallujah.

He's not only anti israel he's anti-American

Thing is, he doesn't just criticize Israeli policies, he rejects Israel's existence.
Except...he doesn't, or can you provide a link to prove otherwise?

Chomsky on Israel's right to exist:

"I lived briefly in a kibbutz fifty years ago -- and, in fact, thought seriously about staying there. I was very much attracted by the style of life and the form of social organization, though not without serious reservations.

"I also had an intimate personal involvement, from early childhood, in the social movements of which the kibbutzim were a part. These movements were opposed to establishment of a Jewish state, but within the Zionist movement of the pre-State era.

"On the matter of legitimacy and recognition, once the State of Israel was established in 1948, my feeling has been that it should have the rights of any state in the international system: no more, no less.

"That includes, specifically, the right to live in peace and security within its recognized international borders, understood to be the pre-June 1967 borders, with minor and mutual adjustments.

"These rights have been recognized by a very broad international consensus since the mid-1970s, including the major Arab states. The US and Israel, virtually alone, have opposed the international consensus since the mid-1970s, and still do."

Just because you said that I'm going to buy Normans book.

Have you read this one yet?

That's interesting, i haven't read that but I want to read Normans book on the GAZA war, my cousin was reading it while we were in Gaza. It was loaded with facts. Noams book titled understanding power is a good one I want too.

Instead of those books, you should be reading your biology and math schoolbooks, and doing something useful with your life. Is your goal to become a terrorist or to contribute to humanity? Well, you are a Muslim.

Chomsky may not please everyone, but the mere fact of criticizing and pointing out defects does not make one 'anti'. He should be regarded as an intellectual hero, but emotions on the part of thought-challenged 'patriots' have made him anathema.

He's anti because he's simply a self loather.

Since people don't care to know or learn about the suject, he must be one hell of a hero.
He's anti-authoritarian, are you?

Chomsky also knows there is no clear Jewish majority between the Jordan and Mediterranean, leading to a choice for all good Jews between Democracy and their religion.

What's yours?

The guy describes himself as an "anarchist." Do you know what an anarchist is, Princess, or don't they teach that in 5th grade? :D

Professor Chomsky, who is Jewish and spent time living on a kibbutz in Israel in the 1950s, is an outspoken critic both of American and Israeli policy. He has objected to Israel’s foundation as a Jewish state, but he has supported a two-state solution and has not condemned Israel’s existence in the terms of the country’s sharpest critics.

--He (Chumpsky) describes his views as "fairly traditional anarchist ones, with origins in the Enlightenment and classical liberalism", and sometimes identifies with anarcho-syndicalism and libertarian socialism.--
"I don't think a Jewish or Christian or Islamic state is a proper concept"
Riiiight. I've noticed the tons of complaints his has with the world's Islamic States.
He only has a problem with that tiny Jewish one.

We can always count on the subject of Israel to bring out the absolute worst in some people on this board, can't we?

I note that there's almost no subject really being debated here,

The content found herein is merely cowards expressing their hatred either for Israel, or their hatred for those who do not love Isreal.

These NAZI's versus Zionist posts are boring as hell except for those participants who get off insulting people they don't know and who they'll never meet.
Perhaps the subject is democracy or theocracy?

"The importance of demographic concerns to some significant figures in Israel's leadership was illustrated when Avraham Burg, a former Knesset Speaker and former chair of the Jewish Agency for Israel, wrote in The Guardian in September 2003,

"'Between the Jordan and the Mediterranean there is no longer a clear Jewish majority. And so, fellow citizens, it is not possible to keep the whole thing without paying a price. We cannot keep a Palestinian majority under an Israeli boot and at the same time think ourselves the only democracy in the Middle East.

"There cannot be democracy without equal rights for all who live here, Arab as well as Jew. We cannot keep the territories and preserve a Jewish majority in the world's only Jewish state – not by means that are humane and moral and Jewish."

West Bank - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Jew not wanting a Jewish state? What does he want?
A Democracy, not unlike Avraham Burg (another Jew):

"Between the Jordan and the Mediterranean there is no longer a clear Jewish majority. And so, fellow citizens, it is not possible to keep the whole thing without paying a price. We cannot keep a Palestinian majority under an Israeli boot and at the same time think ourselves the only democracy in the Middle East.

Would you agree there is currently no clear Jewish majority between the Jordan and Mediterranean?

How many Jews are currently living between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River?
How does that compare to the number of non-Jews?

That's interesting, i haven't read that but I want to read Normans book on the GAZA war, my cousin was reading it while we were in Gaza. It was loaded with facts. Noams book titled understanding power is a good one I want too.

Instead of those books, you should be reading your biology and math schoolbooks, and doing something useful with your life. Is your goal to become a terrorist or to contribute to humanity? Well, you are a Muslim.

The book I suggested is a history book.
