“I was actually going to be tried for how I thought,” he said.

Not hate speech, though some certainly use the Bible to justify hate speech. However, someone standing on a public street with a loud speaker system certainly constitutes a public nuisance. Basically, you are arguing for my right to walk up to you when you are standing in a theatre line and scream in your ear. I may not scream hate at you, but I suspect you would be annoyed nonetheless.

He is entitled to his opinion, but he shouldn't be broadcasting it to the world. The officer is right - how would homosexual members of the public feel, being told that they are hated?

Why not? You broadcast your opinion to the world, what makes your opinion any better or worse than someone else's?

He wasn't "charged with a crime". He was brought in for questioning, then released.

Effectively stopping him from exercising his right to speak.

And why should we be empowering government to protect our feelings?

I can feel the hate you have for Christians who express their beliefs. Does that mean I should empower the government to arrest you to spare my feelings?

Besides, Im pretty confident He doesn't want us exalting a book to His status. We need to be careful not to make the Bible our idol and make sure that instead we remember the purpose of the Bible and everything else the Lord has said: To point us to Christ.

He's using a megaphone on the street to say obscenities about and to people walking around. This is exactly what that pervert preacher did at the rally, and exactly what I complain about these awful sweating fat guys with their bullhorns do here, calling names at everyone on the street.

Do you people really think it's okay to get out on a crowded public street with a bullhorn and yell insults and obscenities at people? That's not preaching! That's trying to start a riot.

Are you all people who do that? I never thought of that till this moment. Are you all people who take an electric bullhorn to some crowded public place and start making a rabble-rousing speech full of insults against this group or that?

Isn't that hate speech and disturbing the peace?
