No one was looking to impeach Clinton. Clinton gave them a reason to. All Progs were looking for any reason to impeach Trump. Before the election even. President Obama gave Progs a false sense of total capitulation of the Republican Party. He moved everything much further left then perhaps they should have gone. People awakened to it. By the end of his Presidency riots were all over, it became obvious the media were mostly Progs and there was a deep hatred to non prog voters. It was laid bare for all to see. And many of the people who spout Prog do not even believe it.

That's nothing. Nancy got pulled over by a policeman the other day and got handed a ticket. She then said, "No, I was not speeding" and began to rip it up in front of him.

Then she went to confessional and was told by her priest that the official position of the Catholic church was that abortion was genocide. She then demanded to see it in writing and ripped that up in front of him as well stating that she was going directly to heaven anyway for supporting abortion, so zip it!

The House proceedings were a sham, therefore the Republicans had no reason to Ingratiate themselves to pelosi and Shciff just because they claimed Trump was a clear and present danger to the world.
The House voted to impeach Trump knowing that they did not have enough evidence, therefore there is no way their votes were honest and based on facts that were deliberated on. Their votes were solely based on emotion, running deep from the Russian collusion fiasco and based on opinions by federal employees who had bad Feeeeelings about Trump's foreign policy decisions.
House Democrats had every chance to take their time, gather all the witness they needed before they voted, but unfortunately, they must have wanted to go skiing over Christmas break, because they said they didnt have time. And they sure didnt want the Supreme Court to get their hands on anything.

There was NO HOUSE COURT OR TRIAL, the Constitution gives the trial to the SENATE.... the house in impeachment are the grand jury/prosecutor phase.... they simply bring charges.....indictments, articles of impeachment.... it is the Senate who has the trial, with witnesses and cross examination of them, and presents evidence before the jury, NOT the House.

And with everyery indictment a prosecutor brings, he does not stop gathering new evidence before the trial takes place, they continue building their case.

Ok, we disagree on what a legitimate impeachment process should be in the House. IMHO it should have been like the Clinton impeachment where the defense could call witnesses and cross-examine the witnesses from day-1. The dems broke House rules, so the impeachment was a partisan sham.

You still don't get that the Articles were unconstitutional. As Lamar Alexander says below, impeachment requires a very high bar, a "high crime" and no crime was committed.
The president does have due process rights, and he does have the right to withhold funds temporarily, period.
