Coca-Cola takes heat after 'Jesus' and 'Trump' not allowed on personalized cans, Kamala Harris is allowed

This is the new America.

China is going to win. You have to be very optimistic to not think they won't. Their global financial reach is expanding. Their ability to have Americans and their companies become more like them is staggering.

Coca-Cola raised the ire of American conservatives after reportedly banning words like ā€˜Jesusā€™ and ā€˜Trumpā€™ on personalized cans of coke sold online.

Videos posted on social media showed that words like ā€˜Jesus loves youā€™ and ā€˜Trump 2024ā€™ were not allowed to be printed on the cans while ā€˜Satanā€™, ā€˜Allahā€™ and ā€˜Kamala Harrisā€™ were. That led to some calling for a boycott of Coke products, since the banned words on the personalizing tool appeared to be anti-conservative.

But after complaints, Coca-Cola reportedly fixed the glitch, banning all words that are ā€œtrademarked, political in nature, names of countries, celebrities, religious figures, as well as anything that could be considered offensive for other reasons,ā€ according to the UKā€™s Daily Mail.

You look for ways to be offended, donā€™t you?

Wow.

Offensive about corporate bias during an election? The bar is being set so low that the prospect of the U.S avoiding becoming a One party state decreases each day. Especially as people flip it off as long as "my side is doing the censoring so its ok".

Americans need to understand history, especially that outside your borders. Those are the systems such actions lead to, one drip at a time.

Coke should fire the execs who made that decision in the first place

It's the usual, "blame the programmers".

They are probably right to be honest but there should be consequences because the risk of boycotts the likes of which a beer company suffered from can have drastic consequences.

Corporations need to be apolitical. Make money. You sell products to everyone so don't ostracize one from the other.

it's amazing how the "glitches" always seem to go one way when it comes to political issues.

RWNJ's are offended by EVERYTHING.

Antwoine Hill originally posted the glitch on Facebook and it quickly went viral on X.

ā€œI am pointing out the obvious, the only name that gets this much backlash and hate is the name of Jesus,ā€ Hill told the Daily Dot. ā€œSo for me this just doesnā€™t seem nearly as big as these issues, but nonetheless I wonā€™t support any company that doesnā€™t support Jesus.ā€

See....................

I personally wouldn't be offended by Trump or Jesus coke cans and I stopped drinking Coca-cola almost 30 years ago.

The cans are personally manufactured from online orders, so it isn't like they're making them available to the general public.

WTF is the offense?

it's not offense, it's calling out that all these "glitches" only seem to target one side of the political spectrum.

Companies have the right to refuse service to anyone.
They don't have to print what THEY don't want to.
From the sound of their response, they are refusing all requests that could be controversial.
In THEIR opinion.
They do have a right to that.

They are now, they weren't until called out for it.

Having the right to do something doesn't mean it's a good idea.
