In the end failure and collapse. It can be held together by totalitarianism if there is an outside alternative. When the USSR fell, despite Ted Kennedy and Co best efforts, there was the alternative f the US and England.
If you grew up when I did this all looks familiar. We faced down the Soviet Union and now we are facing down communist china. Yes there were Democrats then, and the media was pro-marxist..but they had to be much more circumspect.
Its the same propaganda and the same techniques only from inside the US now rather than outside.
Then as now the communists of the world worked together. For instance the Washington Post and Venezuela at the moment...
