It is interesting that the same people who praised President Clinton's relatively conservative economic policies now support President Obama's wildly liberal policies. Clinton's balanced budgets are often touted while defending Obama's unending trillion dollar deficits at the same time. What gives? Is it all about Blaming Bush? Have we gone completely nuts?

I don't see that Obama's policies are at all "wildly liberal," and I don't see where Clinton was intentionally conservative. Both were relatively liberal presidents that had to govern and compromise in the circumstances of Republican congresses.

Well, I guess that's a good argument for a Republican Congress...

Clinton's policies were strongly progressive. His tax plan was groundbreaking, ending years of epically failed far right "trickle down" economics that were sending the nation into the shitter.
Clinton was a solid democrat, Obama so far has been a center/right republican.

Maybe. It might also be suggested that the Republican Congress actually suppressed economic growth, but Clinton's general policies still resulted in a net gain.

Incidentally, the insistance on a balanced budget came to fruition in the late 90's. The result? A painful recession that featured a "jobless recovery" throughout most of Bush's presidency.

Do you want a growing economy? Let's have an expanding money supply. How do we do that? By issuing debt. It's really as simple as that.

Yeah who are they to compare Clinton's failed health care reform to that of Obama?

Why bother listening to Clinton when he says signing the bill that gutted Glass-Steagall was a huge mistake?

Damn those people who compare two pragmatic Democrats who were both called left wing socialists by the right wing noise machine!

:rofl:

Thing is Clinton was the first Black President, but Obama was the first Negro President, and that my friend is where the Whitey Rightie draws the line!!!!!

:rofl:

Only if one wants to go back to the economic crisis of 2007/2008

it was all pre-Obama

:lol: :rofl;
