Complete Incompetence! White House blows cover of CIA’s Kabul station chief!!!

Poor Jed, Armitage outed Plame.....but you aren't intelligent enough to accept the truth.

Well no.

It was Cheney.

Retard alert Armitage ADMITTED he outed her. Under oath and to the Government. Further he admitted no one ordered him to do it. This is a matter of Historical fact. That you claim other wise proves just how fucking stupid you are.

And?

Lewis Libby was the one that went to jail for the matter.

Your meltdown shows that you pretty much shows know what happened here.

Armitage was not the beginning or the end of the outing.

Like so many things about the Bush administration, the whole thing was one big convoluted mess. And the thing about Bush? There were so many REAL scandals it was hard to keep up:

Plamegate"
Main articles: CIA leak grand jury investigation, Plame affair and Plame affair criminal investigation

On July 14, 2003, Washington Post journalist Robert Novak, using information obtained from Richard Armitage at the US State Department, effectively ended Valerie Plame's career with the CIA (from which she later resigned in December 2005) by revealing in his column her identity as a CIA operative.[34][35] Legal documents published in the course of the CIA leak grand jury investigation, United States v. Libby, and Congressional investigations, establish her classified employment as a covert officer for the CIA at the time when Novak's column was published in July 2003.[35][36][37]

In his press conference of October 28, 2005, Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald explained in considerable detail the necessity of secrecy about his grand jury investigation that began in the fall of 2003 — "when it was clear that Valerie Wilson's cover had been blown" — and the background and consequences of the indictment of then high-ranking Bush Administration official Lewis Libby as it pertains to Valerie E. Wilson.[17]

Fitzgerald's subsequent replies to reporters' questions shed further light on the parameters of the leak investigation and what, as its lead prosecutor, bound by the rules of grand jury secrecy, he could and could not reveal legally at the time.[17] Official court documents released later, on April 5, 2006, reveal that Libby testified that "he was specifically authorized in advance" of his meeting with New York Times reporter Judith Miller to disclose the "key judgments" of the October 2002 classified National Intelligence Estimate (NIE). According to Libby's testimony, "the Vice President later advised him that the President had authorized defendant to disclose the relevant portions of the NIE [to Judith Miller]."[38] According to his testimony, the information that Libby was authorized to disclose to Miller "was intended to rebut the allegations of an administration critic, former ambassador Joseph Wilson." A couple of days after Libby's meeting with Miller, then-National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice told reporters, "We don't want to try to get into kind of selective declassification" of the NIE, adding, "We're looking at what can be made available."[39] A "sanitized version" of the NIE in question was officially declassified on July 18, 2003, ten days after Libby's contact with Miller, and was presented at a White House background briefing on weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in Iraq.[40] The NIE contains no references to Valerie Plame or her CIA status, but the Special Counsel has suggested that White House actions were part of "a plan to discredit, punish or seek revenge against Mr. Wilson."[41] President Bush had previously indicated that he would fire whoever had outed Plame.[39]

A court filing by Libby's defense team argued that Plame was not foremost in the minds of administration officials as they sought to rebut charges – made by her husband – that the White House manipulated intelligence to make a case for invasion. The filing indicated that Libby's lawyers did not intend to say that he was told to reveal Plame's identity.[42] The court filing also stated that "Mr. Libby plans to demonstrate that the indictment is wrong when it suggests that he and other government officials viewed Ms. Wilson's role in sending her husband to Africa as important," indicating that Libby's lawyers planned to call Karl Rove to the stand. According to Rove's lawyer, Fitzgerald decided against pressing charges against Rove.[34] , The five-count indictment of Libby included perjury (two counts), obstruction of justice (one count), and making false statements to federal investigators (two counts). There was, however, no count for disclosing classified information, i.e., Plame's status as a CIA operative. Indeed, it was already widely known (even by prosecutor Fitzgerald) that the actual "leaker" was Richard Armitage, via columnist Robert Novak. No evidence has ever come to light that Mr. Libby disclosed Plame's CIA status to Mr. Novak, or anyone else.

Main article: United States v. Libby

On March 6, 2007, Libby was convicted of obstruction of justice, making false statements, and two counts of perjury. He was acquitted on one count of making false statements. He was not charged for revealing Plame's CIA status. His sentence included a $250,000 fine, 30 months in prison and two years of probation. On July 2, 2007, President George W. Bush commuted Libby's sentence, removing the jail term but leaving in place the fine and probation, calling the sentence "excessive."[43][44] In a subsequent press conference, on July 12, 2007, Bush noted, "...the Scooter Libby decision was, I thought, a fair and balanced decision."[45] The Wilsons responded to the commutation in statements posted by their legal counsel, Melanie Sloan, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), and on their own legal support website.

What it really does come down to was this was a revenge game with administration playing fast and loose with classified information.

This and so many other things really should have gotten Bush/Cheney and the rest of the PNAC cowboys kicked out of Washington.

They really did break the law.

The station chief must be on the list of those, like Chris Stevens, that obama wants assassinated. According to the Valerie Plame dust up, obama should be on his way to a prison cell.

You, my friend, have brought up a subject worthy of a full scale, INDEPENDENT PROSECUTOR! THIS is so much more damaging than the bullshit Plame debacle, as to not be in the same room! It is DIRECTLY connected to INSIDE THE WHITE HOUSE!!!!

An inadvertent outing is more damaging than the Bush administration purposely outing an undercover CIA agent out of revenge for her husband's voiced disapproval of the war in Iraq?

Seems like it to some here. I note the Washington Times did not reveal the name. What far right online site will? I see Chris Stevens dishonored in the rush to attack the President; good news katz, he will NOT be running in 2016.

You are too damn ignorant to be posting on this board! Really! Who in the Bush Administration outed an undercover C.I.A. agent? You mean Valerie Plame? No the Bush Administration did not out her, moron. She was outed by a Democrat holdover in the State Department named Richard Heritage. The special prosecutor knew that before he even questioned Scooter Libby. That was another Democrat conspiracy to 'get' the Bush Administration.
Speaking of ignorance ... Richard Heritage? Really?? You mean Richard Armitage. And Armitage was not a "Democrat holdover" in the State Department. He worked under Reagan, Bush Sr. & Bush Jr., none of whom were/are Democrats. And your idiocy of it being a "Democrat conspiracy" is equally ignorant as the rest of your post. The lead investigator, Patrick Fitzgerald, bowed to neither party and had prosecuted members of both parties during his career.

Basically, nothing in your post, right down to the name of the person you got wrong, was accurate.

Bush stopped looking for Bin Laden.

Completely.

There was no "CIA" group assigned to track him. Bush broke that up.

Bush really didn't care about finding him.

That was a CIA operative. Shortly after that?

Bin Laden was dead.

Read this then apologize for lying to us:
Bush Did Not Stop Looking For Bin Laden - All Da King's Men - Ohio

There's no lie.

Bush did stop looking for Bin Laden.

He did get Saddam Hussein. That was his real target.

You are really nuts if you think he quit looking for him.

Well Peaches, I've been on the board for less than 3 months, and by the amount of GOOD, DECENT, Conservatives, and PATRIOTS that Rep me for what I say, and post, it seems that there are many people here that aren't subversives! IF you can't take a firm stand on issues, if you FENCE SIT, and look at the other party as if they have anything relevant to say, a MODERATE is just not worth the powder to blow him to hell at this current junction of our history! Social values are JUST AS IMPORTANT as fiscal values. The LEFT has NO ethics, morals or principles worth a hill of beans. You want to see babies killed? You want to see queers pushing their values on your children? You want MORE ILLEGALS here to soak up almost non-existing jobs, get YOUR TAX MONEY handed to them for free, and watch them get citizenship so they can VOTE THEMSELVES more entitlements? You want Atheists to DISALLOW YOU your religious freedom, watch the muslim hoards SLOWLY take over the high positions in the Fed gov't that the Manchurian muslim has appointed them to.... how many more things would you like to list that have sent this country, over the last 6+ decades into a swirling black hole? Either get your head screwed on straight, or get off the bus!
