The problem wasn't with weakening voting rights, but the fact that the VRA placed special restrictions of Republican areas that Democrat areas didn't have to deal with. It wasn't equitable.

If EVERY state and jurisdiction had to got through the same regulations, people wouldn't have a problem.

The law (KNOWN AS THE VOTING RIGHTS ACT) placed pre-clearance requirements on states that had a history of violating the rights of minority voters......you know why?? Because they have a long history of trying to violate the rights of minority voters....and they still do....

The states who don't have a long history of violating voting rights didn't need to go thru that -- because they don't have a history of violating the voting rights of minority voters...see how that works??

Maybe you should ask yourself why so many historically conservative states have this ugly history of violating the rights of minority voters??

The "long history" was back when those states were controlled by liberals when the VRA was passed.
