CONFIRMED: President Trump Can Sell Federal Land To Build The Wall

It's not clear that it takes an act of Congress.

It's not clear to you because you are an idiot. Anyone who isn't an idiot knows that only Congress can appropriate money out of the treasury.
Selling land isn't appropriating money out of the federal treasury.

No shit. Nobody said it is. Spending money to build a border wall is an appropriation of out the treasury. It doesn't matter if every square inch of public land is sold to Mexico at $5 billion a sqft, spending that money to build a border wall still has to come from Congress.
Right, and Obama had no authority to hand out work permits to illegal aliens. Nevertheless, he did.

Woo Hoo! Go Trump! Do it! Kick those snowflakes in the yarbles!

CONFIRMED: President Trump Can Sell Federal Land To Build The Wall - Big League Politics

To build a wall along the United States’ international border with Mexico, President Donald Trump could order the sale of approximately 500,000 to 5 million acres of federal land. The U.S. Government currently claims ownership of about 640 million acres of land — or about 28% of the total land mass of the nation. This could raise the entire $25 billion needed to finance building the wall (not just the next installment we are currently fighting over).

But one must understand that out of 640 million acres there is a vast diversity of terrain. The task is to select only between around 0.08% to 0.78% of that total land. Most federally-owned land is not suitable. But some land would be appropriate for sale to the State government, the County, or the general public. Some Western public land is nothing but empty grassland, just ordinary grazing land. Some public land is indistinguishable from the type of land currently owned and used by private citizens. In some cases, there seems to be no plausible reason for the federal government to be holding the land at all.

Decisions about which public lands within a state to consider as candidates must be nominated by each State government. It cannot be the President deciding, because left-wing interests groups will demagogue the issue. The State must identify which lands are not environmentally sensitive, culturally historic, important for scenic or recreational purposes, or reasonably claimed by Native Americans. Throwing those decisions to the States allows all the stake-holders to debate the choices, minimizing left-wing hysteria.

You give your Russian puppet and illegitimate so-called president tRump much homage as another anti-American kisser. Yet your Fuhrer tRump or his repuke cronies cannot engage in a rampaging land grab without Congressional approval. This threat first started just after the imposter did a power grab against U.S. Constitutional law. With a democratic controlled House, you can basically confirm your seditious idea to go straight to hell. After all, why didn't your fake so-called president do this war while there was a majority GOPer house?

Will Trump Stand Up To Congress When It Comes To Selling Off Our Public Lands?

You managed to regurgitate all the Dim talking points in a single paragraph. You win the Boot Licker of the Month award.

Congratulations!

He can sell land but Congress would still be in charge of appropriation the money, wouldn't they? Also, the Bureau of Land Management which handles the selling of federal lands is now closed due to shutdown.

If he’s selling land he is taking money in not spending it Einstein.
Taking land. Sounds very american.
Who's he taking it from, asshole?
Oh I meant historically, sounds like US.

The United States is one of the few countries where the government didn't expropriate people's land.

You are a special kind of moron. Virtually everything you post turns out to be not true.

Wait, so Mexico paying for it was a LIE?

So Trump lied at all those rallies?

He's just a big orange pig liar POS?
Who said Mexico was not going to ultimately pay for it, dufus?

Trump is going to put a 2% tax on all wire transfers to Mexico from the United States.
He'll probably have to wait until the GOP tax the house back because it will certainly be challenged in court the moment he tries it. In my opinion it's only fair that those transfer should be charged a fee.

Jo

So what? It would still take an act of Congress to authorize the expenditure. And unless we're selling the public land to Mexico....well, I think it's obvious.
Unless we're selling the land to Mexico, what?

It's not clear that it takes an act of Congress. It didn't take an act of Congress for Obama to declare umpteen million acres of land to be national monuments. The federal government buys and sells land all the time without Congress getting involved.
Its not clear in this post but its "confirmed" in the thread title? Your "level of genius" skirt blows up so often, you NEED your own comedy show. I wanna see it. Make it happen.

What the fuck is a "level of genius" skirt? Was that your attempt at wit?

It's an opinion article. I'm not claiming it's an irrefutable fact.

What a fucking moron.

Ummm… no he isn't , he doesn't have the authority to unilaterally impose new taxes, besides I thought the Republicans were opposed to raising taxes?

He'll probably have to wait until the GOP tax the house back
Don't hold your breath waiting on that..... not to mention a Republican Controlled HoR already shot that idea (HR 1813) dead.
